Thanks! It has been a crazy winter/spring/summer, but I have the body lined up to get painted in September. As soon as that gets back it is full production mode again. just bare with me for a month or two....

Well,

The time has come. This project has been sitting at idle for far too long. I have been waiting on body work and moving stuff around to promises and nothing seems to be working out. The small voice in the back of my head that kept me working on this truck has now been telling me to see how much I could sell it for and clean up the stuff I no longer use... Will I kick myself for the rest of my life if I get rid of it? probably. Does anyone have any experiance with selling a project like this? any tips? OR try to convince me to move the other direction and get it together....

Don't do it. I see "projects" on Craigslist all the time and they just look like big money and hassle to me. Imagine how hard it is to put something back together after not having taken it apart or organized the parts. You'll get pennies on the dollar. You have to really know what you're doing with that particular car, and those people don't buy projects. I say suck it up and finish it. At least get it driveable.

That being said, what are the issues? Body shop still has the body?

DONT SELL DONT SELL. This is a great project. No matter how slow the progress the end results will be more than worth it. Hang in there!

I was counting on some outrage, thanks guys. I would like nothing more than to drive this beast around but i can honestly say there are a lot of places the money and time should be going right now. I was looking through some forums that I used to frequent and going through some of my picture collections and drawings for future projects when I noticed something... I have the folder for all of my rat-rod ideas right next to the folder with all of this projects ideas.... a rat-rod jeep tow rig.... wheels started spinning as I tried to sleep last night.....

Selling a project is very difficult, and you will lose a lot of money. Most people do not like coming in after somebody else, as everybody has a different vision for a given project.

Best of luck with whichever idea you go with.

I have decided that body work can be done any time. So my new plan is to just put it together, paint as I go with everything and have it finished one day when I make millions. At least the metal is thick enough to weld... I do agree that a running driving item sells a lot better than a project and hopefully I won't want to do that when it is together. time time time if I could buy it I would. "Hopefully" there will be some progress shots soon.

No sir, the amount of snow and temperatures below 0 put a complete halt on all of my progress, I can bring the temperature up in the shop about 40 degrees, and that would make the shop about 40 degrees..... not exactly a place I want to paint and spend all day in. Especially not when the slopes around here have the best conditions we have had in years.... soon soon

Progress!

First, the DD progress - I put on board air and solenoid controlled air bags in the rear of my 01 TJ as well as a brake controller and lights in the rear bumper since I have been destroying the suspension towing with that thing.... the small trailer we have has electric brakes and I found the controller on the side of the road and it worked so why not?

I got the cab back to my place and spent a few hours with various wire wheels yesterday, they applied a coat of primer to one side and tucked it back into the shop. Hopefully today the humidity will go down enough to primer the other side. Then Top coat by this weekend and plopped on the frame. The doors and fenders I will do all at once further down the road as I am ready to put them on, no sense getting them painted then shuffling them around the shop until they are needed. Over the past month I have been ordering as many parts as I can think of for everything I would like to install.... thank god for Amazon.... finally back to full production mode and getting excited again. Pictures when I remember and if you would like any specifics please let me know and I will go into more detail. Cheers.

Bottom of the cab has been painted with rubberized Rustoleum Undercoat..... if the rain stays away this weekend I need to get the cab painted so it can get off of the trailer it is on. Forced progress.

UGH!

I understand all about life changes and money issues and how sometimes a persons plans for the future changes but......

Seems like every project I follow and read every post never gets finished....it sucks to just come to a dead end.

I have had a couple of them also not get finished like I planned (66' Chevelle S/S, & a 66' Impala S/S)
