Looks great. You could always upload the videos to you tube and then just post the links

Wow. Serious jello in that second video!

Sounds good. The interface display looks nice.

Now quit posting videos and go out for a drive and tune it! :- )

Me too! I've been waiting for an opinion I trust since I first saw it. Magazine reviews and other forums can be good for pointing out issues, but Mags make money advertising and since I don't know the dorks on other forums I don't trust them to be unbiased. I think derf has a Fitech too. I'm waiting to see what other FSJers think of it before I put one on my J10 or my dads Wag. :-bd

I am curious of any fuel economy gains. All I have heard is yeah it sure seems like it is, but no figures. I have heard of nothing but good stuff about it from people I do trust, but still want figures and more opinions.

So far so good. About 100 miles on it. Was chilly this morn going to work. Fired right up and I left after about a min of idling. I have a bog if I punch it off idle....think I need to enrichen accel a couple of points. Really impressed so far, especially for the money. Hardest part of the install is probably the fuel system. And the pump is hella loud lol

I could never have left after a min of idling before f.i. I'd sit for 10 mins and have to feather it from a stop or stall. Also my prestolite is failing. No vac advance and maybe other problems. Hope to have it on timing control tomm.

Interesting. Did you figure out your fuel economy with the carb? What gears are you running as well? I am obviously curious what potential fuel economy gains there might be.

Also the very important question, how well tuned was your carb? That is often the major fuel economy factor that is not addressed by most people is that they never figured out their carb 100% before hand, and of course the fitech gets so much closer to perfect than an out of the box carb that has not been fine tuned.

I never did figure out my fuel mileage with carb. It wasnt built for that lol. If I had to guess I'd say 10 mpg. I have 35" tires, 4:10 gears and a t18a 4 speed. My carb was recently rebuilt and off road kit added and seem to run really well. My dist on the other hand is a prestolite to start with and has no vac advance anymore. I don"t know how much that affected fuel milelage. I hope to put a modded duraspark on it tomm and have the fitech control my timing.

Sweet! You will love electronic timing control. It's SOOOO nice compared to the compromise of having mechanical and vacuum controlled timing. A few keystrokes and you've adjusted your timing.

Please write a review of the timing control. I am curious what it is capable of and have herd little about it.

I am curious how it works since there is no crank position sensor. I guess it just maps it out with a tach signal. Interested how well it'll work

Yup. It's easy to advance to retard timing with a TBI system. Since there is no sequential fuel injection, the ECM doesn't need to know what cylinder is firing. The distributor takes care of that. As you suspected, all the ECM does it advance or retard according to the distributor signal.

I tried briefly to look and find out if there is a vacuum advance system built into the fitech ignition. Some kind of low load cruise extra advance.
