Exactly why I make EFI systems for the older classics.
Try to make them act more like a modern car.
My latest kit is for the Hudson 6 flat head.
Doc Hudson and the Fabulous Hudson Hornet of Nascar fame.
Cars and trucks are meant to be driven not trailered.
I know I know I know! But i have spent tine and money chasing down my ridiculous unicorn axle....and buying guns, and taking vacations! Too much crap going on.
Now I can try to save my pennies for a TBI system.
Well it ain't just the smoke and the traffic jam that makes me the bitter fool I am But this four-wheel buggy is A-dollaring me to death.
For gas and oils and fluids and grease, And wires and tires and anti freeze....And them accessories, Well honey, that's something else.
Y'all are doing too good of a job selling me on this. There must be some catch!

you must be willing to learn about your engine, how it runs, what it needs, etc. you must also be willing to do some wiring, know how to use a multi-meter to check continuity, voltage, etc. you must also be willing to learn how to use several pieces of hardware and software. software such as tuner pro, winaldl, flashnburn and notepad. hardware such as soldering a chip into your ECM, physically installing the sf512 chip, etc.
it's not bad and might awaken you to how engines actuality run and what they need.
the benefit (as I see it) is that you will KNOW how it's working (or not) and you will be self-sufficient.
Or........
Save the headaches and learning curve and just buy my custom harness/tune combo. The harness is stand alone and is actually made to fit our engines. Not some universal 350 chevy harness.
Then you just bolt everything on and plug in the harness and chip.
Or you can get a complete kit ready to go.
There's lot's of options.
I also carry any other parts needed:
VSS
adapter plates
etc.

Or spend ~$150 for all the donor parts @ u-pull-it yard, and buy a harness/intake adapter/chip tuning from Bill.
Last complete setup I grabbed cost me $110 from ecology.
This was for everything minus the ecm, because I already had several.
Sell the harness on eBay for $150, and basically free.
The only problem I would have with Bill's system (or anyone other than Howell) is that the only smog LEGAL one is the Howell. So here in California that is the one I would have to run. If I could I would so get one from Bill.

Xtrusion Overland rack system, Tepui tent, 1/2 decked system.
LONG time member of ifsja.org, FSJ-List and some others...
Word is from one of the CA smog techs that they-CARB- are working on implementing the rolling smog check years like they promised when they started.
So the 1976 and later carb vehicles may soon be able to get EFI without me needing to pay them $10K+ just for the little gold sticker for my system.
So there may be hope.
