Howell Brain Box

Just picked up a used Howell for my 258. Where are you guys mounting the brain box?

Not under the hood - too warm. The original applications put them under the dash.

I've recently learned that you aren't supposed to ground the ECM case.

Although I'm running two 7747's in different rigs that are grounded and they work fine.

If you don't have A/C, the passenger side FW has two bolts sticking out that hold the heater core box on. Those are excellent places to mount the ECM (if you disregard the fact that they aren't supposed to be grounded...).

I've got AC so things are tight down there. Just looking for ideas.

Don't know about the later Wagons, but you can remove the cardboard glove box on mine and there should be room up inside there.

I like your idea Jeff. I figured it would be to hot under the hood. Even tho every electrical box on my J10 is under the hood from the factory. :roll:

You can adapt some stock GM box holders to hold yours.

That looks like jaber did just that.
