Writing on chip??

Post by Blazer3664 »

Short version....

Moates Autoprom, G2 adapter, 27sf512 chip(s) for a 7427 PCM.

Wanting to burn a spare chip or 2, one w/o 4L80e settings, one (maybe 2nd for a spare later) with.

Will it hurt them to write on the top of the chip with.... say silver Sharpie?

Thanks,
Jim

I would use a paper peel-and-stick label.

Should be fine though. The only problem I can imagine is if you press hard enough to stress the chip case. But I'd write on a label and then apply it. Seen paper labels on chips many times.
