Commerical Wiring Harness

Post by The PIG Smith »

For DYI Throttle Body EFI System, does anyone produce and sell a quality wiring harness?

My thoughts would be to supply the TBI unit, ECM, O2 and other sensors and then use a premade wiring harness to connect it all together.
The reconfiguring of a junkyard wiring harness really has me freaked out.
I want to think I could get a DIY TBI to work if I did not feel stressed over the wiring harness.

Get a hold of Bill from the Binder Planet. He has started doing this, and can customize it for you.

It is not as hard as it looks. I too was quite intimidated by the thought of it, but using the step by step instructions from the Binder Planet, it was very smooth. I hung it from the rafters by the ECM plug and followed his diagram. I also printed out the ECM plug pin outs to help. If you can find a harness cheap, just lay it out, and go through it one system at a time. ;)

Thanks for the plug Jeff.
yes, I do provide everything for the DIY guy on here or on the binderplanet, for those that just want to buy a complete kit and bolt it on and a couple options for the in between crowd.

If the DIY route seems a little too much to tackle I do provide a new custom harness and custom tuned chip for your engine for $400.
That takes all the hard parts out of the conversion.
Just gather the parts and bolt them on.

You can reach me directly at sales@hamiltonfuelinjection.com if you decide to purchase any parts to make the conversion easier.
Other things to consider are the manifold adapter and data logging cable.

I have a couple of 7747 harnesses, TBI, sensors, etc that I could sell. I can even wire 'em up for an FSJ if you like.

I think Bill's harnesses are probably 'better' than mine, but mine do work.

It's really not that hard, but lots of pre-made harnesses out there.

Affordable Fuel Injection $265-up
Howell Fuel Injection $325-up
These guys - http://www.ebay.com/itm/140983240871 ~$245
SpeedWay Motors ~$320
Painless Wiring ~$375

Probably quite a few others?

Yep plenty of them out there.
My harness alone is $300 and the tuning is $100.
So $400 total.
Unlike most universal harnesses, mine is custom made for our front distr engines and is fully self contained so it doesn't use any of the original vehicle wiring to power the system, ignition or fuel pump. All get full relay controlled battery voltage.
