The Burn2 should work just the same as the AutoProm. AFAIK, it automatically selects the offset required when you tell it what chip you're burning.

Try simply renaming the file after downloading it from gearhead-efi. You may have to turn on "Show file extension" to see the (wait for it….) file extension.

I gotta work Friday, but either Saturday or Sunday are great for me.

Edit - Sweet, lots of Durangos at the yard too. Gotta find a sweet SLT with power and bolsters.

Let's shoot for Sunday, if that works for Ethan. The earlier the better for me, but I know you guys have a hell of a drive to get down here. Beers afterwards??

Sunday works for me! I dunno if Ethan is needing to go or not...

And yes, beer always sounds good to me!

Well, Ethan may not "need" to go, but it'll be fun! And it's supposed to be warmer than the last time we all met at the yard.

So, just to update you guys...I had emailed Moates to ask what they thought of my issue and Dave wrote back saying it sounded like a corrupted file. I followed the procedures Babywag linked to, downloaded a dead stock $OD file and burned it onto the chip. I finally got a chance just now to plug it in and check and we're all good. I'm curious HOW it happened, but it turns out it was a corrupted file. I wonder if swapping the files from my old laptop, to a flash drive, to the desk top and then emailing them to my new lap top something went amiss.

Anyways, that's good news! Now I just have to start tuning from scratch. Blake, what time tomorrow do you think? Ethan, I'll PM you my cell number so it's easier.

Good times were had the yard! Jason picked up a spare 7427 PCM and a stock air cleaner for a dual snorkel. I got a heater fan and a GM 63" spring as a spare for the Honcho. The spring I got was only a 2 leaf with overload and the springs I have on the Honcho are 3 leaf with overload, but I think it will work if/when I break one.

Just to update, I'm currently dealing with that appears to be a lean condition on tip in. My NB HO2 sensor is detecting a very lean mixture during the bog. This isn't unusual because of the way the fuel puddles during sudden decreases in vacuum during acceleration. It actually feels like a bog for about 1 second and then it catches up pretty well. I shortened the TPS Delta for PE to compensate and that seems to have cleared most of it up. I'm was going to monkey with the Coefficients and Multipliers but got sidetracked by the several inches of snow we go today.

EDIT: When I was having file issues I forgot to mention I found that root cause. I hadn't set it up right. The files got burned as 32k instead of 64k. Oops, pilot error.

Also try changing the delta MAP table, too. Delta TPS affects "instant" response and delta MAP affects response a half second to a second later.

AE modifications should take care of it, PE is well past "tip in" of throttle.

However VE needs to be tuned properly before any AE/PE changes or you're just chasing your tail.

VE tables are getting a lot closer. I'm a touch lean at High-MAP readings and still a little rich at Low-MAP.

Throttle response is fantastic when the engine is up to operating temp. Still has a lean bog during tip in at other times. Once I get the VE tables closer I'm going to
play with the AE temp coefficients in the colder ranges.

Many things are based off good VE tables, so if they're not right then LOTS of other stuff won't be right either.
So it's pretty important to get VE correct before changing lots of other stuff.

There are some choke AFR settings for cold engine tweaking as well.

Update!

My VE tables are good-to-go, I feel like. Everything is within 3-4 of either side of 128 now. I adjusted the spark table to what Bill has on Binder Planet for other AMC 360's yesterday. Now that VW and spark are in I'll focus in on AE not working real well at anything below 92* C. If you really give it gas when "cold" it'll bog down (it pops sometimes when below 20* or so C, coolant temp) and then take off when AE turns off and PE kicks on.

While the AE issue is annoying it's consistent. Just like everything else with this conversion now. Whether it's 10 below or 50 out the engine ALWAYS fires right off, really quick. Emissions are a breeze and it drives wonderfully once warmed up.

There are some choke specific tables I had to change on mine when I was running the 7427.
Really helped cold weather drive-ability.

AE is tough to tune dial in w/o a wideband sensor.

Try scaling(mult) the AE/TPS AE table by 1.5.
Do not increase the AE/MAP table.
