8747 ecm

Post by Grand_Wag_85 »

Somebody here local has a complete tbi system removed from a motor home. Ecm is the 8747. How does that ecm compare to the 7747? Is it as easy to program, more or less features?

I dunno, but I did find this thread: http://www.binderplanet.com/forums/inde ... ion.98759/

sounds like you may consider scrapping the 8747 ecm and go with the 7747, but it would be cool to try the 8747

Found thread on gen3 site said 8747 was not as program able due to heavy vehicles needing more grunt than go. Also is set up lock up tc.

I'll probably just Repin the harness for the 7747.

No repin required. Direct swap for most C3 ECMs.
It's individual sensors that are different between applications.
8747- no knock
8746- added IAT
7747- knock
Then you have the less commons ones like the 6299, 4288, 8062....
all had various trans applications
The C3 ECM used the 2732 chip for most applications.

Go to the ECM definition files to see a list.

Thanks for that info Bill! This particular system is going on an IH 345, right up your alley ;)
