The MAFSJC's first event of 2018! The Jeeps may be hibernating for the worst of winter, but that also makes it the perfect time to get some work done! Come on out to members Anne and JR's house with your tools, your project, and we'll get some stuff done. Even if you're only there for emotional support or to wrench on someone else's junk, come over and hang out.

Join our FB group for more information, or shoot me a private message here on the forums.

The MAFSJC is a great group of FSJ owners located in the NJ/NY/DE/MD/Eastern PA area. The MAFSJC charges no dues, the only requirements for membership are for you to show up! :-bd

If I was farther south, I'd be all over this. Cool to know that there are some Full Size Jeepers out east.

You should definitely make the trip down when we go to Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area in the spring, it's an awesome place for some wheeling of all levels and a great camping spot. Would love to meet ya!

When is that event? ... and where? If it works out with the family and it isn't incredibly far, I might be able to swing something like that!

That is where the park is, for you its probably still a 6~ hour drive. Generally we try to plan the next event at a get together, so expect to hear more come Feb. We've been talking about trying to explore areas farther north, if you know of any good wheeling spots in your part of the country maybe this year will be the year.

There's quite a bit of good wheeling in New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. New Hampshire has Class VI roads, Vermont has Class IV and Maine has the Great North Woods with hundreds of miles of trails. New Hampshire also has Jericho State park, which is opening rock crawling trails... some of which are very difficult:

Jericho Mountain State Park 4x4 Off Road Trail
This is the first 4x4 Jeep/Truck trail, on public lands, in the Northeast! The trail is 2.5 miles long and is estimated to take 3.5-5 hours to complete. Vehicles enter through the main parking area at the Visitor Center on Jericho Lake Road. Cost is $20 per vehicle (up to 2 occupants) and $4 for each additional person. Vehicles are required to have a winch, modified tires and other modifications.

The North Woods Off Road Club (NWOR) built the trail, with State approvals, and is performing the trail maintenance. The trails are open to the public during the Visitors Center hours of operation. Drivers need to check in at the Visitor Center to get the gate opened. The gate will close at approximately 5pm during the summer, to allow vehicles to get out before the park closes at night.

If you want to see some pictures or trip reports, let me know!
