Alta lake

Post by Gumby »

Anyone interested in heading out to Alta lakes for an easy day? We did it two years ago and it was an easy drive. This would be done on Thursday, I will be packing my picnic basket and fishing rods. So you get the idea for this run.

That was a nice drive until the heavens opened up with the hail. :) Oh and the 229 croaked in Steve's rig. I bet we would be game for this.

Maybe. I don't plan Ouray this far in advance!

I know it is early to try to plan, but I have a little guy traveling with me and his priority is fishing (or just getting his rod wet). But the earlier that we can get an option for those that really want a family day on an easy trail this would be it.

I think my dad and I would probably go for that, especially if you're thinking Wednesday. I'm planning to bring my fancy pants fiancé who has NEVER GONE 4WHEELING before in here life before she met me, and we've only done some easy stuff around the cabin in Bailey in the Money Badger (since it has a horrible bench seat and no passenger seatbelts at the moment). Since this will be here first actual wheelin' trip I'd like to start her off with some easy stuff with a scenic destination. I'll have buckets and belts by Ouray.

3/4 resto, rotting faster than I've been fixing it.

No, I'm going to just rely on what I thought I saw the first time. Wednesday sounds good. :P

Haha! Thursday might work for me too. I guess it will depend largely on how much confidence I have in the Money Badger to get us back over the mountains if I push her harder on the tougher trails.
