Just two more weekends to get stuff done people. My brake booster went out last weekend so I know what I am doing today.

getting closer! I have run into trailer issues. The guy I was going to rent a trailer from needs to use it. I have a couple of other leads though.
And my brake booster failed on me two weekends ago. I have the new one in place but not totally bolted in. This weekend I should get it all hooked up. There isn't much of anything else left to do on the jeep (for this trip). I need to check the dates on the last oil change and stuff. It is so hot in the garage that working on the jeep is just not 'fun'.

But at least it isn't at some shop waiting for work to be done! (Last year's fiasco)

I am very nervous, I hope the 5.3L swap runs well and I hope everyone likes it. Can't wait to see everyone!

We'll find out more Saturday on the shakedown run :) I hope my rig makes the trip without issue. It's been a very long time since it has been on the road over an hour straight let alone 6.

getting closer. It's so hot here I don't want to mess with the Jeep but I know the week in the cool pines will be worth it. (And hanging out with old and new friends).

I'm doing all the fiddly bits to be ready if my engine is back from the shop in time to get it installed. And there's a lot to do while the engine is completely out.

Hopefully I'll get the engine back in time. Though having a short wheelbase Wrangler for Black Bear would make that trail a little easier.

Truck and trailer performed flawlessly on the 4K+ mile ECI trip so I will be trailering the jeep in on Tuesday morning the 14th.

I'll be typically earlier than check in time so if some of my good neighbors around site 48 want to get up early and motivate some slowpoke people out of my spot please feel free to do so.

With 14 days left and still no engine yet, I'm predicting that I will be bringing the JK. That is, unless I get good news from the machine shop this coming week and I can have the whole of next weekend to get it installed.

At least I'll have a short wheelbase Jeep to take on Black Bear...
