I Google'd (never in my life did I ever think that'd be a word if ever say), and it looks like scenery right out of a Jeep logo. Do you guys came out there?
That's what makes this meet so nice is you can always plan on it to be in the middle of July. ALWAYS...
The people that show up for this are the most awesome people you will ever meet. All walks of life and all ages. Instant Wrench O Thons when someone breaks down and usually someone has a trailer or dolly to tow the unfixables back to the KOA are other destinations.
You'll come once and you will be hooked.
I have only attempted one trip out there in a FSJ in 2006 and it never made it out of NM.I rented a Yukon to get to Ouray and went back for my Jeep 2 weeks later and limped it back home to KY. It died the week before the meet the next year in 2007 so I rented a Durango. Then didn't show back up for 4 years due to a move and other life problems. I took my F350 in 2012, 2013 and it will be there again this year. I rented a Jeep from KOA and most likely will again to do a long , long cruise through the mountains north of Ouray.
If all goes well I may have a Jeep(non running) there this year, that is if I can get the guy to sell it to me while I'm out west.
Next year I should have at least 1 Jeep there and most likely 2 of them.
