Does anyone know of any trails/dirt roads that go from Gunnison to Ouray? We would like to 'wheel to the KOA.

Big Cimarron (sp) Road west of Blue Mesa lake goes towards SilverJack Res. which hooks up with Owl Pass, if I recall, and puts you into 550 just north of Ridgway. Best have a full tank leaving Gunnison as there isnt any stations before the turnoff or afterwards. I dont know the milage, been a long time since we ran that way. Only route I know of that goes through.

It is more than a couple... but a few and on a Long stretch it must have been hailing rocks... when we drove by the right side of the road or mountain side was a layer of rocks. The canyons must be littered with debris...stay on the high side.
And the forecast us more of the same w flash floods until midnite

Pics will have to wait, not sure hiw to do them on this new fangle device.
Thursday in ouray.. all hell broke out.. Rudy and I set off alone in a rented wrangler. Did ophir pass and last dollar trail, I had forgot how pretty the two trails are. I started to meet up with part of the crew south of telluride at the lakes until I seen the storms forming. I shot across ophir to get back to ouray. The crew at the lakes got hammered by afreak hail storm, Krista has video. One dead jeep was left there and recovered later in the evening. We need a np229 for Tinmedic.
Kennys old waggy has finally bit the dust as well.
Rains are light here at Koamelot. Tequilla is flowing and the fire is raging.

I feel sorry for those that do bla ckbear. There is a bad traffic jam up on the switch acks due to the road crew fixing the trail, long, long delays.
