LOL. If you do dump it, I might try to borrow it off of you to drag the Cherokee behind a buddy's diesel. (no trailer between)

I must say thank you all for letting me tag along, I had a blast above the tree line. I may not be making it up for the next trip but I will be preparing for the return. I got towed one too many times so that can't happen when I return. I will post pictures tomorrow.

This was a busy year for Jerry's AAA-FSJ recovery.
My truck is slightly squatted now but rides like a Cadillac with 90 foot of 6ft. cedar fencing material in it.
Taking abreak in Hays , KS for the night.. The heat was getting to Rudy so I gave him a break from the road. I don't think he will be so anxious to go for a ride for a while.

You think the jeep looks good you should see Kenny. He apparently got a good dental plan unlike what he had in the previous years. His Clint Eastwood look was good this year.

July 16,17,and 18 2014..Are the dates.

Just rolled into town here at home, Wed, 4:00pm. 2967 miles from start to finish in the F350. About 350 miles in the rented Wrangler. Good to be back. Lots of unpacking to do.

My truck had a very pleasant cedar aroma from Denver to home. I think the Kansas State Troopers also liked the smell as I had 3 of them chase me down, follow me for a bit then disappear from behind me. I was never speeding when they were around as my truck's sweet spot is 70 mph and the speed limit is 75mph. 75-80 and the 7.3 and 4:10 gears start screaming. It will flat tear up the mountain passes though with no power loss, I was truly amazed. I'll unload all the lumber tomorrow and stow away the camper top for now as it is time to get my yard work project finished. Next year I think I'll drag one of the trailers out and harvest some rock and another load of cedar and hopefully some of the "beetle kill" pine wood. My upstair lofted rooms would look so good with that as a wall covering.

Rudy has transformed from just a dog in the house to a very loving dog.Emily the "Dog Whisperer" had a talk with him a few times at camp. He was so "stand offish" before the trip. I had got him from the pound in late May and never had the chance to spend any time with him until this trip. He may never want to go for another ride for awhile. The trip home was a mix of silliness from him and he tried his best to talk to me the last 2 days. The last 1000 miles he spent trying to cuddle against me while driving. The trip out he couldn't get far enough from me in the truck, the trip back I think he wanted to drive.

I guess Frank N son are the only ones still out on the road. Next year maybe we could do a monster theme?

Once again I had a great time. I'd like to thank Flint, Tad and Rob for going above the call of duty in making this event what it is. Thanks to everyone else for being who you are. It's amazing how you can get so many different people together from all over the country and some not even know each other, and have such a good time.

Had I known David Byrne (Talking Heads front man) was performing in Telluride the week before I would've got there sooner. Maybe that would make a better theme... Burning down the house, Cross Eyed and Painless, Road to Nowhere,Take Me to the River..... OK maybe I'm, just a big Talking Heads fan from way way back.

Pics I want to see posted are of the "Santa on a bender" walking across the campground in his red long johns with the poop flap, early one morning. My camera was on the other side of the campground or I would of shot a ton of them. Also one of Jody (sp) Dave's wife, in the long night shirt printed like a sexy girl in a bikini, front and back. 2 of the memories that will be seared into my brain.

Here it is Wednesday evening, and we're back home in Michigan, safe and sound.
4,304 miles total!

After we left on Saturday, we drove down to Durango (Bayfield actually) to visit a friend's parents. We drove west from there and followed Flint and Krista's suggestion and drove straight west in to Utah, and then down through Monument Valley, and on to the Grand Canyon.
We spent the day there Sunday (WOW!!) and then headed for home on Monday. Made it to Amarillo, TX and then drove Amarillo to Indianapolis on Tuesday (980 miles!) then home on Wednesday. When we got to the Canyon, I noticed the driver side rear wheel seal was leaking - only days after it was replaced in Montrose. Great.....
But I kept an eye on the oil level and made it home.

We had a great time in Ouray! Like everyone else, we didn't get as much trail time, but just being there and hanging out with old and new friends is the real point of going. There were times I wished I had driven my Wagoneer out again, and times I was glad it was safe and snug back home. Thanks for all that everyone does to make this happen every year!

Going to get back to work on my truck and get ready for my next trip west!

We did about 2,800 miles, and I thought our last day of 795 miles was long.
