Yesterday he said they took the front axle apart to fix the seal leak and they noticed a chip on the pinion gear that they must have missed. So need a new pinion gear. I don't really know if I will get the Jeep tomorrow or not. I assume he didn't get the part today. If they do finish it I don't want them to leave it outside for another week while I sit up in Ouray.

Hopefully you all will have a good time even without my Cheese Crisps. :-bd Someone let me know the dates for next year as soon as you know. I am thinking 'what the heck' I will just drag the wife up while towing and we can live the adventure together. I am going to want to grab a trailer spot for next year.

I haven't cancelled my spot yet, I will tomorrow. It's not close to the fire so no worries about pissing anyone off.
WHAT THE HELL MIKE???? Get out of your funk and get your butt over to Ouray. Like I said, you can always find a seat. You know you'd rather be sitting in Ouray crying in your beer about the Jeep not being done than sitting at home!! I understand not wanting to tow it and not be able to drive it, or not wanting to spend the whole time wrenching but hell, we've been there, done that, more than once. Seriously. You already planned on it, you might as well at least show up! We are towing a Jeep that's been sitting for 2 years. Ok, rant off. You better show up or I will come and find you and drag you by your ears up to Ouray. Can somebody just pick it up while you are gone? Is it a part time transfer case, front pinion? Really man, just come.

Show up in your Sport Trac! Gosh, nobody ever showed up in a Ford before :D If you don't want it sitting out, maybe they should deliver to your house for you since they missed the pinion problem to begin with... and took too long... or can't your wife just pick it up? I'm not just saying this because of the cheese crisps! You'll be missed.

New clutch slave, master, and line. Still have some bleeding to do but it moves and shifts all by itself! New fuel lines run. Working on lights to the rear and in cab controls for fan, lights, etc. Headed out to make some more headway.

I am on the Contact List. Staying in Denver tonight, Montrose tomorrow, but will be in Ouray for Tuesday.

If someone breaks something and needs a delivery from either of these locations, PM me here or hit meup with my pother contact info on the List. Don't mind trasporting if I can help out... even have a trailer I can borrow in Denver if necessary as I will returning there next weekend.

Looking forward to seeing you fine folks!

It's a good thing I didn't head out to Ouray this year. HOOT was going to put my Cherokee on trailer and then tow it there. I've had a coolant leak for the last few weeks that I couldn't find. I pulled the timing cover in preparation for a cam swap and the leak showed itself. The gasket that goes between the t/c and block was, for all intents and purposes wasn't there. It just crumbled into tiny pieces, no scraping necessary. Considering the higher altitude, along with higher operating temps and pressures she would have tossed in the towel. Nothing like sitting in camp working on your rig. I got lucky this time,

Hopefully, I'll make it next year.

safe travels Jerry!

Hey, pick up my shirt for me would ya?

I had hopes that I would get the Jeep back today and I was going to head up tomorrow in the sport trac. But the Jeep won't be ready till tomorrow or Wed at the earliest. They are waiting on a new pinion gear.

So have fun my friends. I will be there next year and I think I am going to just 'go for it' and bring the wife with me. I need someone to post the dates once you know and I will reserve a spot. I was really looking forward to getting up there this year. Goodness knows the weather here in Phoenix is worth leaving.
