Poughkeepsie on Friday it is. I'm pretty excited to get out of this 100+ heat. I'd leave tomorrow if I could get away with it. We'll cruise out to KOA Sunday evening and see who's around. Everyone drive safe and see you there.
haha, I commit to nothing! Plans change in Ouray and that is the way I like it.
Oh, except the commitment to breakfast on monday. Eggs Benedict. I will bump that post.
And Thursday dinner/raffle!
But yeah, trail run plans are subject to change at any point before or during a trail run. You can change plans after, but only if you have an anti-paradox time travel machine... Or are really good at lying.

Poughkeepsie Friday sounds like a preliminary plan to me! This year I want to take Wyatt down Blackbear, and up Poughkeepsie. Do a couple in between.
Can you guys do me a favor and now talk it up too much? I don't want him to get spooked and not want to run Poughkeepsie. He's a capable driver off-road but if we hype it up too much he might think it'll be too hard.
I'd like to do Black Bear as well, and maybe Poughkeepsie. It's not really THAT bad it's just one of the tougher trails in the area, and the road below the obstacle is extremely rough for a ways. I was thinking Black Bear Friday but I'd be fine with Thursday. I'd like to do Imogene Wednesday. As stated, plans are subject to change!! Sure looking forward to getting out of the Missouri sauna, it's steamy here this week. Less than 72 hours to departure. Wow!

Rich and high altitudes don't work out well. My buddy derek pretty much had to give up on his Jeep due to a lack of power. Does your system compensate for altitiude?
Yes, it compensates but would rather not have it have to adjust quite so much. Got the Kit from Hamilton. Bill is sending a different chip but may not have it before we leave. He has been great to work with.
On another note, Have a Brother in Phx, Love Los Dos! Looking forward to the salsa. Love Sadies out of NM too!

You mean we can't talk about this move from last year?

Just call it the wall, I spotted him up some nasty trail today so I think he'll be ready.
I'm cautiously optimistic, last night we ran the local trail and got wheels a foot off the trail:
Broke a motor mount, ate the fan shroud, developed a vacuum leak. Spent all day fixing that and then rolled to Blake's for some more testing.:
Currently sitting in the passenger seat while Wyatt rolls 75mph down I25. Unfortunately sitting at 220° but that's no too bad. And I think we can remedy that tomorrow.
Photobucket hosting is dead! I'm not paying $400 a year for that! Great googly moogly!

Okay, took the time to swap the jets this morning. I usually run 64 here and 61 in Ouray. I put in 60 primarys for this year. I think I will put off fixing the headliner till I get up to Ouray. We had to remove the back part to get the rack on and I couldn't get it in just right due to my finger.

What's a jet? Did you put jet engines on the Jeep or sumptin?
1977 Cherokee S, Ford 5.0, 5 speed, BW 1356, 33 x 10.50 BFG's. No longer my DD.
2007 Mercury Milan, 2.3L, 5-speed, now my DD. 29 mpg average.
Jet engines would be nice. I hear they run better at high altitiude.
I picked up a new air cleaner. I figured the less restriction the better.
Also got my buddy's tow rig, gave it a quick wash and hooked up a trailer brake. It was easy, turns out to be plug and play on a 05 silverado.
It's 105 and humid and sunny and just plain hot. So I came in to cool down...

68 and overcast with some thunder in the distance at the KOA.
Good to meet ya too Ted! Thanks for making the goodies available for sale.
So the back story on the po-po starts like this...
I am late meeting Ted and didn't get to the bank, basically the start of another Shimniok fiasco day. Jeep running like ass too, so good thing I did this test drive and tune. Drive to the bank. On the way back motor starts to sputter. Now this seems eerily familiar....
My fuel cut out gremlin is back. I stall on the side of a 4-lane road. Swap in new fuel pump relay. Nope. New ignition module. Nope. Connect fuel pump to battery + and.... After a few tries a feeble yep. Pump sounds like it is grinding gravel.
Fortunately for me, I am stocked with a spare new pump in anticipation of this very scenario.
I am under about to drench myself in gasoline. The fuzz pulls up. Cool guy. Keeps me from being squished by reckless cars. Ted shows up to tow me. Officer escorts us. Also picks up the fuel pump on side of road where I left it.
New pump on. Works. Talk Jeep. Go eat. Talk more. Drive home. Tuning successfully improves drivability. No issues. Flop on couch.
Hoping that the gremlins stay away until after Ouray.
