Can you say "sequester"? With the missed time I doubt we'll be making the trip now. :x

Out of curiosity, and I do not intend to make this overly political (I may delete this later), but...

Are they making you lose time on purpose to make it look bad (Like they are doing with park tours, because they are public facing), or was the FAA part of the spending increase? As there is no real budget cut, just a smaller increase.

I think to make it look bad. I'm in a safety related position, right along with the controllers. Each of us are having to take 8 hours off every 80 hours whether we need to or not, starting April 21, until the end of the fiscal year (September). They also mentioned maybe going beyond that.

Given that the govt seems to be able to hand out billions to other countries in the midst of the sequester, kinda points to the fact that it's all BS.

In all seriousness, if you have flights planned, you might want to reconsider...the sequester affects the FAA, the TSA and through us, the airlines. Not to mention the 200 or so contract FAA towers around the country that will be closed...

And the lawmakers salaries and benefits aren't effected either.

OK, I just subscribed to this thread.

Maybe getting email reminders of how little time I have left will keep a fire lit under my @$$ to get the Gladiator finished in time.

And we are getting closer.

I am going to head out early Sunday the 14th so that I can hit gallup to cortez in the early morning. I think last year I headed out at 1am or so and it worked out pretty well. That gave me a nice Sunday at the KOA to get settled.

I am not sure if I will go via Durango and 500 or via telluride. If I go telluride, depending on how I feel, I might shoot across on Ophir.

Two weeks from today!
I'm gonna be in Ouray
What else can I say?
It's gonna be a great day.

Should be arriving right about this time in two weeks. Difference is, it won't be over 100 degrees in Ouray. Goodness I cannot wait.
