2016 FSJ Ouray Potluck

Post by srobertsfsj »

Hey Everyone! Per tradition we are going to be holding a Potluck and BBQ at the Ouray KOA. This is a great time for everyone to socialize and get to know the first timers. Even though Flint and Krista are in a Kabin this year we are still having it at spots 47 and 47a. Thank you to Grand_Wag_85 and firecaptain13 for letting us use their spots.

The Pot Luck will be Thursday 7/14 at 6pm so plan on being there! The cost is same as last year, $2 a head. All the money goes to a very worthwhile cause, The Ouray Mountain Rescue team. Feel free to donate more, if you can. http://ouraymountainrescue.com

Since Michael and I are techie type guys (nerds), this year we are doing a web based RSVP. When you RSVP for the potluck the website will give you the option to sign up to help with food, supplies and volunteer time for setup and clean. Hopefully we can get everyone to bring something. This is our first time organizing the potluck so we are taking our best guess on quantities. If you don’t want to donate to the pot luck that is fine but please RSVP so we know how much we need! This year let’s bring some games too. If you have a washers, cornhole, or ladder game bring it! Even a football or Frisbee will fun.

Click here to sign up (you will have to create an account)

A big thanks to Flint, Krista, Bob and Tad for starting this great tradition!

Should I leave my wife at home? Even though she is an RN, she still has eyes...lol.

If you can't fix it with a hammer or duct tape you have an electrical problem.

HAHA! I saw what you did on the signup page, :-bd

for the three grills, unless things changed since last year the campsite grills where just on heavy truck wheel bases. Since I'm bringing the sausage I can just drag the campsite grill over from my site and use that to cook em. Closed gas grills tend to overcook sausage anyways. :)

I will have this grate with my in Ouray if you like. Not sure if they want campers moving the fire pits on their own.

Might not be every site now that you post that, but I remember having both a firepit that was a bigrig wheel AND a picnic style BBQ welded to a rusty old wheel as a base.

How do like that little folder? I've been thinking of getting one for all the car camping we do.

I don't remember any picnic style BBQ's in Ouray. Huh...

We love it. I think we bought it for Ouray '12 and we use it occasionally. It comes in real handy when you have a regular campfire so you can move the heat around to different areas if needed.
