Fire? Wow I guess our repairs are looking good trying to track down the hard start issue. Trying not to be on the side of a mountain with a no fuel problem. We will be in 47b Monday-Saturday we have 2 of us with a tent and canopy, trailer and two rigs. Have room for more if someone needs a spot. Any way we can cut the budget a little is good. Plenty of room for another tent. Rigs and trailers have free rein out in our area pretty much.

Ew! You lick your Jeep?
1977 Cherokee S, Ford 5.0, 5 speed, BW 1356, 33 x 10.50 BFG's. No longer my DD.
2007 Mercury Milan, 2.3L, 5-speed, now my DD. 29 mpg average.
The Super Chief is back on the road. Did a short test drive last night to make sure nothing falls off. New engine seems to be running great. Hopefully I can get some miles on it before Ouray. I am still not sure I can make it tho. Wife still doesnt have a job so finances are getting tight.

Sounds an awful lot like my test drives.
Would be awesome to see the Super Chief in person. Last time you had the rental Ruby and before that the orange wag iirc. Hopefully everything works out for you guys.

Good news on the engine! Hopefully you will be able to come and spend some time with the gang.

I recently saw a WT Cherokee copper in color and muscle grille parked on the service Rd next to 70 between Idaho Springs and the Eisenhower Tunnel. It's in your neck of the woods.

Haha, it doesn't work that way. There is almost never a plan. What you can do is declare which day you want to run Black Bear and see who wants to join in.
Yep! But there will be one or two groups going down black bear at some point. The friends I'm bringing with me are bringing a brand new "Black Bear" wrangler, so for names sake I'm probably going to drive the last 3/4s of the decent in his new car.

Alright, who has a couple extra seats? Or a couple people with one extra seat? We may be bringing the Mazda6 this year, just found out we have an oil cooler on it's way out on our tow rig. Unless it is replaced in the next week it's not going anywhere and certainly not on a 2000 mile trip with a trailer in tow. Guess it's far better to find this out now rather than later. Should have picked up the Scangauge a lot sooner. Not sure what the plan is at this point, kind of depends on how much wrenching Bryan wants to continue doing. He already still has to replace the fuel pump and regulator on the trail rig, waiting on that to come in next week since it was far cheaper online than locally. That shouldn't be too bad though. Just not sure what point to pull the plug on bringing a rig... maybe now.

Oh man - that sucks to have tow rig issues. Trail rig issues are manageable, but tow rig can be a bich.
I bet there will be plenty of folks who can bum y'all rides, but I tell ya what, I have a ride for you. My Honcho is literally falling apart and I don't know if I'm gonna be able to trailer it down there or not. But my LX450 (that I recently stripped and caged, losing 1200lbs) has 4 seats and is in great shape. It's entirely possible that I may destroy the lexus at the dunes this weekend, but it's Toyota, so probably not.
Let's see how things progress over the next few days, but you have at least one offer for a ride. You can even pick it up at my place in Longmont and drive it the rest of the way down, or I could trailer it, or I could trailer both it and the honcho. Let's see how things progress...

That's awesome thanks! At least our little one is staying with grandma this trip so that makes things much easier. I know there are always seats here and there. Seriously bummed out this morning. Bryan's off today, he isn't even up yet so he doesn't know! I just found out this morning drove the truck into work with the Scangauge hooked up. 70 degrees outside running on flat highway for 30 minutes, coolant temps stayed around 186 and oil temps up to 216. Not what we want to see. So we'll figure out the plan and go from there I guess.
