'68 International 3/4 ton 2wd pickup for parts (maybe)

Post by carnuck »

I'm thinking about buying this truck for parts so I can get the '68 Travelall drivable. If I pre-sell enough stuff, I'll get it, but otherwise I'll have to pass. It has power steering and power brakes which I need most of all. The 345 (poor running due to what PO says is a broken ring) has what I think is a T18A behind it. (line set tag says T15, but it's 4 speed granny low)
Full float Dana 60 rear with that strange big 6 lug pattern. Not sure what ratio yet. Box is okay but not original (PO says same style as original but looks way wrong much older "bathtub" style)

I'd like to swap out the PS and PB for my current manual steering and brakes then resell it as mostly complete. I'm still looking for a 68-74 IH full size with AMC 6 or 401 so I can get the parts to do a 4.0L or AMC V8 swap into the Pumpkin bus.

Front was messed up by hitting a couple deer but I have another header panel, fenders and grill. Bumper is off for a tow bar (which wasn't included). My Travelall has an FSJ 3 piece bumper on it which looks right so it'll stay.

What parts do you need for operation pumpkin bus? I might have them in the part horde. If not I know where there was a 401 powered international 100...

Bit far away for me. I'm left coast (the OTHER Washington) I tried to find a '68 with AMC 6 but no go. Apparently it didn't happen till '69 with the newer body style and wider frame. Now I'm looking for a Rebel or similar full size V8 crossmember to put in for the 290 AMC I have. Trans crossbar is easy to make afterwards but it has to clear the narrow gap where the std trans was bolted to the ears of the bellhousing.

Dumb no edit. I have a Ford 4x4 PS box to install with the J4000 front diff for steering improvement.

Left coast is the Pacific coast, so he is in Washington state not the cess pit on the right coast

Yeah I know. Why did you think that I thought you were in DC? You do know that Colorado is much closer to Washington than it is DC right?

Two hacked of motor mounts and a page of measurements in a flat rate box would only cost about $12 bucks in shipping so I think that my offering was realistic.

I'm looking for a whole AMC full size car V8 engine crossbar to make fit the frame.
