Work computer issue

Post by az chip »

Is this site dangerous? My work computer blocks it and says it is a unknown site.

Does your work generally block bulletin boards? Is it just the forum or www.fsjnetwork.com as well?

Where I work sites get different classifications (gambling, porn, news, etc) and certain types are blocked along with specific URL's. This site is not.

Curious. What about BJ's offroad? I can get to it from work...

It is probably due to the network policy set by the IT Dept.
Depending on the security rules in place at the firewall, your network may only allow http traffic to whitelisted sites and blocks traffic to unknown ones.
It could also be your browser security level or internet security software preventing this.

screenshot of this error message?

perhaps Stuka can get this site on a 'whitelist'.

I ran the forward web proxy array here at work for about a decade and now deal with all sorts of internet security....

What browser are you using? Do all browsers block it? Its most likely a corporate filter/firewall that is blocking it.

There is nothing dangerous to my knowledge on the main site or the forum. Its all using pretty standard stuff.

it's probably a corporate proxy that doesn't have fsjnetwork listed yet. If you could find out the proxy vendor it might be possible to get this site on their whitelist by contacting the vendor. Also it might be possible to contact your network/security group to have this site added.

Probably not going to happen. I should be outside wrenching on airplanes. But sometimes we wait for airplanes for a couple hours it would be nice to cruise this site.

Strange that it reports this as being a parked domain, it most certainly is not parked.

Submitted to Mcafe to have it changed, will see how they respond.
