Classifieds police?

Post by REDONE »

Can we get some more? I counted and roughly a third of the posts don't have a location in the title, of those less than half had it in the first post OR had the "location" filled out under their avatar. I really bugs me when I see something I want and can afford then have to ASK where it is just to find out it's in GD Canada or something.

Dolphin "Shark" gauges in a fancy homemade oak bezel
3/4 resto, rotting faster than I've been fixing it.

So are you saying that you want to volunteer for the job? ;)

Well shoot. I know I'm guilty of "two week hiatus's" more often than most, but I would help out. I know that rule is there for a reason. ;)

rather than having people manually 'police' the classifieds, is it possible to make it so the location and price is mandatory in the post?

Yes you can flag post. Hit the little exclamation point. Well, unless thats only for mods, would have to login to see. But if you see a round ! up by the quote button, thats it.

I do not know of a way to make the location mandatory, or rather, create a mandatory field without doing a lot of custom stuff, which makes upgrading hell.

But really, if it we just crack down on it, people will learn its what has to be done.

I saw what you did there, that's a lot more work than I'd volunteer to do. But if you need a little help I'd delete posts and PM why to the posters for you.

I went through and cleaned up a bunch of them, but not all of them. But most of the active ones. Will keep a closer eye on it.

I have noticed the same problem.

While I don't post much, I do log in most every day, sometimes more than once.
If I had the tech expertise to feel comfortable with it, I would be willing to volunteer. Since I don't, best I could offer is to PM any I catch a warning, then let you know if they dont get it fixed in a day or so.

I really don't read much in the classifieds section unless I am looking for something specific.
I'll try to be a bit more active there.

Just flag the post. Don't PM or anything.
