A help with shipping posting?

Post by 66stepside »

I was on another ( a Gmc 6066 site) and they had a posting section that was all about helping people get parts from one place to another. Kinda like "hey, I've got an empty trailer going to Bainbridge Island, Wa. From Spokane, Wa. Does anyone need me to haul parts for them along I-90?" kind of thing. I wonder if we can do something like that here?

I've done the empty trailer thing on CL when I went across the Cascades, and hauled a set of cylinder heads that way, too.

I like the idea. I am just not sure we have enough people on this site to actually make use of it?

I know Pirate is rough but they do have a hauling forum describing what you are wanting. It's pay based rather than helping someone out but might help out someone needing a hotshot truck delivery.

It's all good. When we grow, and the need arises, it can be done then. ;)

I have hauled a lot of stuff from PIRATE 4X4 . I hate driving an empty truck / trailer , too expensive . For me it's a road trip with a purpose . In 10 months I have put 45 K on my truck , got 2 different trailers 18' BP and a 34' GN , I can haul it as I have 3 day weekends ,can cover 2500 miles roughly , It's still fun so far not going to get rich doing it . It will work good for us between parts wanted and for sale items and it's a great way to meet some other Jeepers . I've met some great people ate some good food and seen some cool sh!t. Bob

I drive from Seattle to Abbotsford, BC in Canada, but cross border stuff gets iffy.

Alternators, winches, 4x4, guns all have the same issue if you don't have any knowledge of them usually bad things will happen. Serehill

I've had pretty good luck with uship, especially if you're not tight on schedule. Not free, but hold out long enough and someone usually is driving your route as long as it's not like Idaho to North Dakota :)

I'll drink to that. Meant it more as an in-general statement...sounds like you may have a decent solution there. ;-)
