Colorado FSJ Adventure

Post by 3upadventures »

School got out last Friday and by Saturday afternoon I was out roadtripping in the FSJ (yes, vaporlock issue and all...... as long as I travel in the morning and the evening it's not that big of an issue!)

Our roadtrip briefly took us to Utah where we met up with a photographer friend who made lots of images of me, my pup, and the FSJ over the course of the week. Here's a teaser she posted to Facebook yesterday:

Our trip took us all over the state and I'm still working through my images and getting posts up on my blog but it was a blast! I'll update some here but there's a lot more photos on 3UpAdventures.com including this post on Right Hand Tusher Canyon road near Green River, Utah.

If you are bringing the Jeep by Ouray we can give a go at fixing the vapor lock, or whatever issue. I can bring a heat sink for the ignition module.

Cool, looks like a blast. Inspiring too; I can't wait to get the Jeep out on the open road on the way to adventure this summer...

Oooh! Sounds great!

The Jeep will definitely be in Ouray. I only live up in Ridgway so it's a pretty easy haul up to the KOA.

Can you get a pic of the ignition module so I know which one you got.

You can have vapor lock with fuel injection. Been there, done that.

I had concerns about tribal land when I went into the Uintah valley last fall. Fortunately where I went wasn't on tribal lands. Unfortunately there was a lot of natural gas compressor stations and pipelines. I need to go back, but not in the summer. It's interesting land.

I'd like to take my Jeep exploring through some of the mountain views Colorado has to offer. First I've got to finish putting the new fuel system in though.

Since you mentioned you're having vapor lock issues you might consider heat sleeves as a possible cheap fix. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/hsp-204014/overview/
I just bought that for the system I'm building. Found it from this thread http://fsjnetwork.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=7160

Wow, your friends photography is amazing, she's pretty good with a camera. Great stuff.

I really liked the pictures of your dog too...she really captured some character.....I love the one where he's looking over the tailgate, that's a wonderful picture.

There's great work here too:

Are those a family of bobcats she photographed? I've only once seen a fleeting glimpse of a bobcat in the wild, that's cool to get those pictures.

Nice to have met you in Ouray Beth. Your Cherokee is a nice looker in spite of the mid day vaporlocking. :-bd
