New wood and molding on fresh paint With some updated comforts and I would like a 2" lift to just clear some 31x10.50s. Mainly will be a grocery getter. To good of shape to make a trail rig.

Any suggestions on things you would have done during a restoration or modifications.

Think hard about lift springs...more arch = stiffer ride

Doesn't necessarily have to be super stiff. Depends on the springs and shocks.

It has a set of add a leaf on it. The 30x9.50 on it separated and I wanted the 31x10.50, found a set of add a leaf on Craigslist. They said they were 2" and it clears the 31s fine but if I could get a 2" lift with some new springs I think it would ride better and last longer. Plan on keeping this so I want to do it correctly and only once.

Just an FYI, would avoid Rancho 2.5" lift. I had a spring/aal setup on the 85 and it rode pretty harshly even with RS9k shocks.

My Skyjacker 4" rides nice, at least the one I got in 99 does. Others seem happy with theirs. Rancho RS9000 shocks worked nicely.

Also, 2" won't clear 31's in the rear at full flex. It will bend up the fender and cut up the tire. AMHIK. :) Fine on road though.

Thanks for the experience. This will stay on road for what I will have invested. I was thinking about getting some new stock springs from Crown and put the RockLaurance 2.5" Shackle reverse kit on it to keep it riding like a Wagoneer instead of a Wrangler. All stripped down and heading for paint.

Body Getting prepped for paint, Only found rust in two spots. One behind the wood molding and the other under the carpet in front of drivers side rear wheel well, Looks like someone set a battery in the back floorboard with bleached carpet and rust underneath of that area. Welded in all of the rivet holes, Now a couple of small dings to repair and it will be ready for paint.

I already got the front shackle kit from you last month when I picked up the Stainless gutter trim. What are my choices for the rear? Did you just make 2.5" blocks for the rear or something else?

Yeah, wow. That donor looks great. What is it going to donate, if you're repainting the body of your current rig?

It has major cancer in bad areas but runs great and is complete. It looks excellent from 30 feet and the closer you get the worse your stomach feels. I will sell items I do not use if there is a need for them. I am going to use the interior mainly and some smalls then part out the rest. It is a final edition also.

It is a Final Edition 1991. Which harness do you need?
