Hello. I am new to this fsj forum. I thought I would share my new wood grain. I have an 88 grand wag , buff yellow 121k, no rust, bought her a while back from Tenn doctor, he kept her pristine, all records etc,.. Southern gentleman. Imported her to Cape cod. The wood was dry cracked and faded. I debated the full trim and wood redu. Spoke with all the " experts" (wagonman, Norbert, the Texas boys etc,..) I respect all of their opinions. After a lot of thought. Decided on keeping the original trim , I did not like the replacement trim from our fiends at teamgrandwagoneer. It's nice but not original. To,flimsy and no "holes"
, looks wrong to me. Their wood grain I feel has been perfected nicely. So I sanded off the old and smoothed out the surface and replaced with teamgrandwagoneer new wood 3m stickers, tucked it nice under the trim. They have done a nice job in my opinion, continuous grain. So thee are many opinions out there , just thought I would share my good experience. Happy to share more details , tricks etc, Also , just added my new/old Marchal Fogs , I found on ebay , as mine we're trashed
