My 63 Wagoneer

Post by glake »

New to the forum. Started out using another FSJ forum before I found this one, and seem to keep coming back here. I like the overall tone and feel of the posts here.

Anyway, back in January, I found a Wagoneer on Craigslist advertised as a 65, turned out to be a 63 registered as a 64. My wife and I made the 3hour drive to check it out on a Sunday and ended up buying it. I've pretty much always had a Jeep, but this is my fist FSJ. The more I tinker on it, the more I love it. Right now it's in a pretty rough state. Give me a year or two and I'll have her looking like new. Who knows, maybe she'll make Ouray!

So here's a few pictures of it when I bought it home.

That is a pretty good start, you can also just show up to Ouray. The way it has been you could have drug one home too :fsj: welcome to the madness.

One of the POs did a butcher job on a small block chevy install. I have a freshly rebuilt tbi sbc to put in. Planning on a 700r4 with a twin stick dana 20. Not sure on gearing yet, but I'll run 31s so I'd be interested to know what others may have. Thinking 4.11 or 4.56.

It's 1/2 off day this weekend at the pick a part, so I plan on getting a rear dana 44 out of an Isuzu Rodeo. Then I'll just need to find a 44 front from a newer Wagoneer.

Good Morning, I have a 68 Wagoneer and when I fold a tumble the back seat I have that "Hallow" zone where the rear seat was. I noticed on Your picture #4 that You had that cover plate and of over 50 different Rigs You are the 2nd to have it!!!
Can I get some pictures and dimensions so that I can have made?

Hi Allan, I haven't logged in for a while, so that's why I didn't see this. Anyway, I'll snap a few shots this week and post.
