ive just managed to aquire this 81 j20 off a deer farmer in hamner springs nz rotting in paddock unloved and deserted so will try to get her back to former glory ive chased this truck for over a year and payed dearly but quality is remembered long after price is forgotten its running a diesel 6 toyota not sure what its out of has a 5 spd dyna box with a micky mouse shifter that doesent always go where its ment to had a new set of front springs heavy duty at some stage late in its life has the standard crack round the steering box on chassie standard diffs bit of rot here and there

glass over steel rotted them even quicker its done some hard yards the farmers father had jeep heavy trucks left over from pacific ww2 and a few other willys jeeps he imported here
The frame cracking around the steering box is actually very rare for FSJs. Common as mud on GM trucks though.
The front fender that is cracked is aftermarket most likely. Unless you guys had fiberglass fenders normally? Ours were all steel. Love the aluminum bed (or galvanized steel maybe, either way its cool).
Fenders were rusty and fibreglassed over the holes all flares on gaurds here are steel from new and ive got 2 stock j20,s with cracked frames now exactly same place right hand front cornernext to steering box guess we drive them harder over here aye
