Never shared a photo of my lifted, clean '89 GW

Post by theonetruegreg »

Gotten so much help here over the last couple years, chasing gremlins, figured it time to share
So here it is.

Image

Nothing fancy, just a solid daily driver/part-time trail runner/occassional hauler.

Clean outside, cleaner inside.

Very nice, I dont recall seeing your rig at the last Denver Meet and Greet. I was going to try and get one going this winter, hopefully you can make it!

Nice GW. DO you have a pic from the side view so I can get an Idea of where your rear fenders are trimmed? I'm about to hack mine. Thanks.

Nothing fancy. Bought it because of the clean body and interior almost 2 years back now, after looking for 6 years for a rust free final edition GW that was in my price range.

Was non-running.

Came already with a lift (PO only had the truck for 3 months, couldn't deal with fixing it). He said it was a 3" lift, and judging by it's impressively horrible ride, it's likely the Rough Country 3".
Put on 33x12.50 Goodyear Duratracs. 35" fit with the chopped fenders, but that little difference in size made it look off from how I wanted it to.

After replacing the entire brake system, entire steering, rebuilding trans, t-case, getting the motor setup right (ish) and countless hours of chasing electrical demons (still many to go), it's been a dead-reliable daily driver (I do mean daily, I sold my other cars after getting this going). Never broken down on me, after a ton of city miles and occassional trail ride.

When it warms back up, I'll take some nice interior shots

Great looking wagon. By the way I watched your episode of Built not Bought yesterday. Great stuff. The work you do is impressive.
