Should re-gap to .045 I think, have to re-check. Go with 8mm+ MSD or similar. I think Napa sells a set of 8mm HEI wires with whatever their brand is but they are exactly the same. CRT performance stocks them as well but I don't recall them having a better price than NAPA.

Thanks for the info. The .045 was what I was thinking. Just did not know if I needed a different plug with a longer electrode to compensate for the larger gap. I think I found where Chevy 454 wires will work and are cheap because they are for a Chevy.

If you do Chevy wires, you wont get a coil wire. I just got a set for an 88 F350 with the 460 engine.

Wow. Just realized that I have not been keeping this updated. Been a bit since my last post so have to catch up a bit I guess.

Gave up on the HEI. Just could not get it to fit right so I went with the Motorcraft Jeep distributor and HEI module setup using the cap adapter and larger cap. Works great!

Pulled a Sanden bracket system off a 1980 GW and installed. Got the system up and running, but the pump gave out so looking to replace that this spring before it gets hot. The front seal went out and I lost pressure in the system. Just glad it did not come apart mechanically. Do not really want to flush the system out again.

Finally had it with vapor lock and installed a Holley Red Pump. Works great now although a bit noisy. Have a plan for that thought.

Just enjoying driving the Jeep now.

I have been working on a storage system for camping and day outings. I got tired of everything just being willy nilly in the back area so I came up with a system to keep things more organized. The idea is that every tote will have certain camping or outings equipment in them and can be easily removed and installed for what ever the adventure may call for. Took me a bit of time to find a tote that would fit 3 wide between the wheel wells. I could find the width ok, but they would always be too short. Finally I found ones that were just the right length and width for my project.

The nice thing now is that I do not have to worry about something bad rubbing against my upholstery.
Next is the shelf that will be installed above the totes. That shelf will eventually have a couple of totes on it too as well as a cooler and maybe some electronics.

$735.00 with shipping. That included both front seats, center fold down seat, and rear seat. That was for the Classic design which is the most expensive option they have which is $650.00 for front and rear (the center fold down seat was a extra $45.00). They also have a standard design for $460.00 and a premium design for $515.00. $40.00 shipping on the covers. I have ordered a couple of seat covers from them and have been quite happy with the quality. Oh, the price also includes the hog ring pliers and hog rings.

Also for your camping, look up a " Chuck box" on YouTube. I made one for my 79 Cherokee when I go camping. REALLY cleans up the packing process!
