So this followed me home today...

Post by HeavyMetalThunder_81 »

It's a '79. Originally a 360/TH400/QT rig but now has no drive train. The price was right and plans are in the works for it Image

This one will be my 5th FSJ ever but as of now I'm back down to two. Unfortunately the Orange '79 had terminal cancer in the firewall, floors, and roof rails. It was stripped for parts and sent away :-(
The body on my Golden Eagle is getting rough so the wife and I talked about it, decided it would be better to find a new body than try to fix the current one, and surprisingly we agreed on a fairly large budget for it.
The body on this red '79 "S" model is CLEAN and will be getting stripped, painted up like my GE, and have most of the parts (minus the drive train) swaped into it from the GE. I have a 401 and T-18 to build for it. I'm excited. She actually is, too. It's really nice when the other half is involved and supports your hobby.

Nice find. Looks like a solid base to start from.

This is why I appreciate my wife. She's not a car nut, like I am, but she does appreciate certain make/models. She also has a project. A 95 Miata. I have too many. The Waggy, My 2000 WS6. My 64 belair. My 85 crew cab Dodge-Cummins swap.

At least the first 3 are running and driving....

Started cleaning the Jeep out to assess the floors and get it ready for disassembly/body work. I can say that I've seen worse...but was hoping for better. Especially from a California rig. Sigh.ImageImageImageImageImage
Nothing I can't handle. I've done my fair share of FSJ floor pan replacement. I was just hoping that this one would have been different Image

On the bright side, the Jeep came with a Quadra Trac that I had assumed was blown. Upon further tinkering I think it is a part time unit with next to zero chain slop. Nice Image
