My Junk, er - Jeep GW

Post by fulsizjeep »

I bought this 88 in 1995 in Charlotte, NC, and named him Wally. Wally the Wonderwagon for a good while then later after many wheeling upgrades, Wally the Blue Moose.

Here he is with fresh paint in 97 at around 100k miles. All stock except the 79 Cherokee brush guard.

I broke him pretty good in 2012 and sold him to Jerry down in Globe in 2013.

Jerry did a lot of work on him after that. Last year, he contacted me and gave me first option to get him back. I had to think about it. Really. Then as I thought about it, heck yeah was the response.

Here he is back in Colorado in 2017 at around 285K miles. Not much is stock any more.

Thanks for looking.

Moab 2012 Moab was good for a one day trip. I went home early with fuel delivery problems.

I had picked up a LR fender out of FL that was rust free and Jerry replaced the trashed one with it. See 3rd pic. He replaced the rear axle and put a different 3.73 gear set and the Lockright from the old axle in it. Then he picked up a set of 88 GW axles with lockers and 4.10 gear sets and sold the 3.73 axles.

I think I only paid $190 shipped to my house. It included the tail light panel and tail light assembly. I thought is was a very fair deal.

Do you still have video of Wally way back in the day when you got him airborne in the middle of a pond by sheer witchcraft?

Yes! I could have sworn I saw video of it, but I might have just been there or just imagined it. :-bd

RockLaurence Vintage Auto Parts. I have several sets of doors and rear quarter panels. Just remember, doors and quarters are heavy
