New member 90 Grand Wagoneer

Post by TRCobra506 »

Hi new member from the northeast. My first jeep for quite a few years. I was lucky to find a 90 GW from California for a good price. I'm looking for miscellaneous parts to put it back to perfect. I also have an 2003 cobra and a 1967 f100 with a crown Vic and 3 valve 4.6 swap

Also want to share some pictures of an old j10 a friend acquired
50k miles, seen better days

I yanked the CB because I didn't want to see it sit any longer. Still works, missing a knob and I need to source a selector switch. It still slides but the post is broken

That CB is freaking awesome. Never knew they existed from the factory like that. I bet those fetch a decent sum

I eBay'd the CB, it brought 200. Pretty cool piece.

What color is your cobra?

Nice, always liked sonic blue. mine has about 17k on it. I pulled it out yesterday to get some air and let it run a bit before being parked

Right on! Looking good. Fun cars for sure. And holding value quite well. Most of my mods were done in like 2008. Most of the parts they don't use anymore. Billetflow grooved 2.76 upper pulley, MRT catless H mid pipe. MAC 2.5 SS catback. Lfp heat exchanger, H&R SS springs. Intake and tune. Put down 470 horse 480 torque at the dyno. Still have the early billetflow hood vents. Very nice pieces, billet machined hood vents that are anodized black. But look more like the stock ones just a little better. What you have done to your Cobra?

Right on! I have thought about a port, but haven't got the things together to do it. The guy that tuned my car lived in my hometown. He Sid all his own work on his car. Went from pullied, to port, to whipple, then finally to hellion 76mm turbo. Cool dude. Ended up moving to Florida then sold the car. I see a torch red cobra running around my area still. There was mine, sonic blue. Dave's Oxford white, and a torch red, and a screaming yellow. All out in the boonies of Washington. Now just mine and the red one. Haha.

I know of 3 others in my area, one mystichrome that's probably beat to death by now. One mystichrome with 8k miles and a higher mileage silver one. Only ever see the silver one driving and it's seldom. It was always my dream car....I had a whippled 2011 5.0 I sold for it

Sweet! My friend has a 2011 5.0 he was looking at the whipple, but they are very expensive, compared to the Paxton. And he might sell to either get a 64 falcon or a 2015 5.0. He changes his mind weekly! Haha we did 4 different exhaust setup on his car to get it the way he wanted. And ghost tune, intake. Fun car for sure. But the car is so refined in my eyes, that it's like a luxury mustang. I'm used to my 70 and the sn95 and my cobra. So little different. I saw the cobra in 2003, lo ed it. It looked like a aftermarket cobra from the factory.

In 2005 I remember going to the dealer and they had a 2003 black cobra and a 2004 black cobra sitting on the lot, went to test drive and the battery was dead on both. Been sitting so long. They wanted 23k for the silver and 26k for the 2004. They were trying to make room for the all new cool 2005 mustang!. Wah wah. Damn 3 valves. Ended up buying mine a year later for 27k with 7k miles on it. Definitely a awesome mustang for the enthusiast! Have you read Iron fist, Lead foot? Sweet book chronicling the birth of the 03-04 cobra.

No never read the book, I read some Internet articles about their creation in the past though. Definitely an enthusiast, I had several cool ones before it too. The terminator is one of the few modern domestics holding its money so well. Most people either like the car or at least respect it for what it was when it was new. Happy to own one

The Grand is nice, the black sheep of the family :D

I like the '67 F100 a lot, very classy classic style with a modern engine.

One of the few vehicles I have sold and regret, and I have owned at least 30, is my 90 5.0 coupe. In 2016 a serious lightweight at 225hp but so much fun to drive back in the 90's, EFI, two-chambers, 3.73's and the 5-speed was all I needed.
