just added another j20 to the collection very tidy 79 j20 6 cylinder x rural fire support looks a bit like a licourice allsort but soon to be painted all navy blue this truck has made me very happy has high speed diffs cruises at 100 ks easy also has pto wich is a real bonus as i dont have any on other j20,s i have will be putting deck on it next week if all goes well

Very unique truck! However, the paint scheme has got to go! Your not going to keep the bed and convert to flat bed? In most cases, the flat beds look "shade tree" or in complete.

Looks like a great truck !
Since it's a 79 it's not a local production but an export truck manufactured in Toledo with an US VIN
J10 81, J10 77, CJ7 80, Gladiator 64, Wagoneer 65, ZJ 5.9

ok thanks thats very interesting its also only one of three ive got that hasent got the cracked chassie round steering box the other 2 are 82 and 84 models

The reason the frame cracks at the steering box on exports is Jeep never told anybody the frame is built for left hand drive and is not as heavy/ thick on the right side. Didn't show up in some markets like UK because only the steering column was moved and a chain and gear under the dash was used to connect to the original shaft.
79 Cherokee WT QT Golden Eagle white with gold windows "Pigger" only blows hubs the night before a road trip or the clodest night of year. Has only been towed cause of stupid.

Thanks just what i suspected trust the poms to use a steering system out of a ww2 bren gun carryer to steer a truck with no tracksin the 80s
