So now that I am back to the land of wheeling, I'd like to consult my fellow fsj'ers to see what's missing in their market. What off-road specific products would you like to see and but for your rig? Let me know what rig you have as well.
Also, I might be looking for fsj guys in the Phoenix area for mockup and design. It can't be your daily though as I don't want to deal with the "I need to drive it to work in the morning" thing. sooooo with that said, this is a roll call for Phoenix people. Speak up!
I'm in the Phoenix area. I have a 65 I am building up and a 67 that I might build later for the wife, if I dont have to poach too much of it.
If you do plastic mold injection, we could really use tail lights. Only one side is available new. These were used from 63 to (I believe) 81.
For those switching to rhino grills, a replacement pie plate you can mount an offroad hid in would be a hit. Reproduction round head light boxes and turn signal boxes made of metal instead of cheap plastic would be good.
Everything else on my old heep is incompatible with the newer ones, so the market might be too small.
I am kicking around replacing the inner fenders with tubing for strength. I will want a stinger front bumper with winch integegrated in between the frane rail nice and tight. I have not liked what I have seen so far. I have seen a few that were close. Also rocker guards and a rear bumper with tire, high lift, and fuel carrier. I will think about it tonight and post more details.
Aesthetics wouldn't be my specialty. I'm honestly amazed bjs or someone hasn't jumped on those things. It's been almost 10 years since I had my fsj/buggy/hybrid and the aesthetic requests were the same back then.
I am amazed as well. I cannot wait for the 3d printing machines to mature. Once the cheap can print clear
polycarbonate, all the old car guys reflector problems will be solved. They are almost there now.
every major portion of the J truck beds have been reproduced except the rear corners, where the tail lights mount. Mine is rusted badly there. Also the cab corners of the truck. Every other truck in had replacement cab corners, I can find 55 Willys truck cab corners, but not 1980 j20.
How about pre bent roll cage kits, especially ones that actually allow you to enter a four door.
1972 Dodge Demon with a 451" stroker Big Block
1986 Jeep Grand Wagoneer AMC 360" AKA Golddigger- SOLD
2003 Dodge Crewcab 2500 Cummins longbed 4x4
2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee V-6 full time 4x4
Alternators, winches, 4x4, guns all have the same issue if you don't have any knowledge of them usually bad things will happen. Serehill

As in you weld?
Yes. My desire is to cage my GW, in reality I can buy all of the tools and such but then it won't ever get done. If I can buy a pre bent cage and weld it myself then it is a possibility

Cage kit yes. 2 door with access to rear seat a bonus.
79 Cherokee WT QT Golden Eagle white with gold windows "Pigger" only blows hubs the night before a road trip or the clodest night of year. Has only been towed cause of stupid.
How about a suspension system that doesn't need to be put together like Frankenstein ? It really doesn't apply to me because mine is to custom already but hey, what do you guys think ?
1961 Willys Wagon, high compression 383 stroker, custom exhaust, TH400 w/stage two kit, Dana 300, Currie twin stick,LoMax 4:1,D60 front, 14 bolt rear, Discs, E brakes, hydro brakes, PSC hydro assist, ARBs,38 x 14.5 x 17 MTRKs on steel, 4 link front w/ King coilovers, Autometer Phanthom Gauges,Winters shifter, buckets ,old crappy paint with some rust and dents, just the way I like it
An easier way to replace the wide trac rear fender flares, preferably in rubber or something that can flex. I will soon be installing a fiberglass set, I dont think they will last very long in the bush.
Interior; Headliner, replacement front seats.........
A functioning tailgate electric to manual window kit.
I will jump in on the cage idea, specifically one for the 4-door. I might be more keen on a bolt-clamp together system (with the inner slugs). My reasoning is that I want one that is tucked up as tight as possible along the roofline above the doors to minimize intrusion into the cabin. My thoughts are oriented toward making the rig safer while maintaining its usefulness as a daily driver for family.
it is impossible (as best as I can assess) to get a cage that fits the roofline tightly and get solid welds all the way around joints. Since I am dreaming, a spice colored cover for the bar to match my interior would also be great.. 8v)
Metal flares would be great as well. I have seen lots of good WT candidates that just needed flares.
One day I will wake up and realize that my jeep is complete...one day, I just know it.
