Everyone wants softer springs for their FSJ and I'm sitting here breaking them left and right cause they are too soft and too weak.

I wish I could get my hands on a set of REALLY beefy front FSJ springs for the Honcho...

I'd have to take a pic, but Id say about 5-6"

I'm running shackle reverse, SOA, tons, 42's and I usually drive too fast :fsj:

Interesting.... most my buddies do 4" of up travel the guys running leafs don't have many probs with his Alcan's. It's an 81 cj8 on 42s with 383 chevy 60 front and shaved 14bolt rear, with 1/8th" inch steel body armor, atlas 4. He also put rollers on the front of his front springs hangers

This thing goes where usually buggies only go...

So maybe try a better quality spring? Or adjust your driving style a touch.... lol

Just for clarity, I'm technically using Orbit Eyes, from Alcan... but they're really all the same thing. I like them... but they were expensive! In the end, they gave me a little more flex. But, in the range of travel, they made the flex smoother and more useful on the trail. I'm running 12" travel shocks and use almost all the travel with my setup. Long story short, I've been happy with them but still question if it was worth the extra cost.

Well I guess it's a matter of perspective then and what the benefits are worth to you...

Yeah. I will say that they definitely work. They will get you some extra travel and they will extend the life of your springs... and Alcans, in general, are a really flexy spring. The only thing was that the Orbit eyes added something like $350 to the cost of the spring packs. In the end, my rear leafs flex close to a truck with a chevy 63" spring swap. It's cool that I can get that kind of flex out of a 52" spring but I paid 3 times what it would've cost me to cut/weld mounts and get a junk yard set of chevy springs. On the other hand, I can remove and add leafs to my suspension, depending on how much load capacity I need now. With my current setup, my truck rides great with 0-300 lbs in the bed. I add one leaf and it's good with 200-600 lbs. Add the final half leaf and it's good with 300-1000 lbs in there. (That would be awesome for a Four Wheel Camper setup!) I just call out out the cost because FSJ guys don't like to spend money quite like the Toyota guys do.
