FSJ Camper

Post by BigJ200 »

I finally got my custom canvas camper top finished. Turned out very nice. Getting it set up now for lots of back country expeditions. Thought you guys might enjoy it.

I'll post more photos of the inside once I get that all done.

Dude, that looks insanely good. How is the fabric part held to the bed? Also, how is the velcro holding up when driving on the highway? I love how tight everything is on it... professional job!

The entire top and steel frame come off as one unit like a camper shell. The canvas is held on the lower edges with sewn in plastic strips like Jeep soft tops. It locks under a steel lip all the way around. The windows zip up and the Velcro is just there to hold the edges down. They havent come loose even on the highway at 75. So far...
I installed LED interior lights that come on when the rear hatch is opened. Plus, there's a switch inside for turning them on and off manually. My 5,000 watt inverter is mounted on the front wall. Lots more pics and details coming in the next few weeks.

Alternators, winches, 4x4, guns all have the same issue if you don't have any knowledge of them usually bad things will happen. Serehill

I may have missed it on another thread, but that bed looks very much like a military cargo trailer.
If you fabricated it yourself I compliment your design aesthetic!

I built it from scratch. My civilian version of the M715 bed.
