1980 Wagoneer LS3/Restoration Thread!

Post by Iroc313 »

Hey all! I've been lurking here for the past few months and I figured I start up a build thread of my sisters 1980 Wagoneer.

The plan is for a body off restoration (though that's tentative at this point since there really isn't any rust on the truck), color change, and an LQ4/4L80E/NP241c swap.

It isn't going to be a crazy rock crawler or anything, we're probably going to put stock ride height springs on it. It's just going to be a nice classic family cruiser.

The 360/727 combo has to go, we have already put a fair amount of money into it and there's just no point anymore considering how cheap LS motors have gotten.

Anyways, here are some initial pictures of the truck! Should be getting started in the next few weeks, I see there are a ton of swap threads like this on here, so I'll definitely be bugging you guys from time to time!

Glad you posted! That's a nice waggy you're starting with.

btw: I couldn't help but notice that twin engined aircraft in the background. Looks like a Douglas transport...

I believe it's just an adaptor plate that goes on the back.

I'm not rebuilding the trans myself. So I'll get back to you on that.

Also, we decided to go from an LQ4 to an E-rod LS3 for California emissions reasons.

Should definitely be a fun ride now!

Not really, we put new headgaskets in it a while back. I'm nit sure what it could be, maybe cracked intake or head.

I don't have much motivation to mess with it, way too much other stuff to do just going to sell it as is.
