Wish I were a better photographer! The quality of work Steve is doing on this truck blows me away, right now diff' are out for cleaning and paint, next will mask off front fender wells and undercoat, wiring details, getting close

still trying to decide wheels and tires for this rig, Steve wants black 20 x 10's I like old school polished slotted mags like the Mickey Thompson Classics maybe 17 x 9, the wheels that have been on this truck for years (15 x 8 slotted) are ok but their lug centric not hub centered but they could be polished or powdered coated black cost would be 6-800 bucks (sand blast, powdered coat backside, polished front) I also have a set of stock 15 x 7 wheels polished but they rub against the rear springs with the TA 33's I have now could use spaces but the 33's really bulge, funny when I work on other peoples cars I have no problem when deciding what looks right, but my truck it's agony deciding what looks right argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can get rings to make them hub centric. I ran them on my JK with the old steel wheels it had. They got rid of the vibes that I had before hand.

17's would look good. But if please don't go the 'bro-truck' look with super wide 20's

Thanks Tat I really don't care for black wheels what's the point might as well just paint the stock rims black but I quess the younger guys need to be different even if it's ugly, also wonder about fake beadlocks!

Stuka, usually out at the hangar on friday mornings practicing take off and landings, you can pick up the seat and see the sun rise from the air!

That truck is going to be too purty to get durty Ed!

Steve and I are thinking the first year or two after the truck is done we might take it to SEMA and the Good Guys All American show in Pleasanton, can't see driving it in poor weather any more, but that will change in year three I think

Alright I looked all through the thread and couldn't find an answer. What's the current suspension setup? I see the springs say BJ's, there are track bars involved, and shackle reverse up front. What's the story? How does it ride?

It has not yet been driven, so no way to know how it rides.

Stuka's right haven't driven it yet, still dealing with all the details right now, this truck will never be wheeled by me and because of our hot rod background(my son Steve and I) it's built like a -well- hot rod- lots of attention to cosmetic details, suspension consists of Tads springover kit we squared the frame to the axles and welded the rear brackets in place, BJ's stock springs they were a little stiff couple of leaves have been removed front and rear,
reverse shackle kit with black poly bushings,front diff has a track bar,bilstein shocks and steering stabilizer, Lares 525 quick ratio steering box, steering shaft has no rag joint from BJ's,steering column is 91 chev van with tilt mostly for the 4 speed 700R4 shift indicator,all bushings are Prothane black poly,because of the 42 gallons fuel tank installed in the spare tire location I expect the truck to ride better than it did, probably should have gone with a 4 link and coils in the back and some kind of front coil spring setup but this is a build that got out of hand and took on a life of it's own! hopefully someday I will be able to drive it!! Thanks TAT it does look good, I've owned modified vehicles all my life and it's always been a hassle keepping them in one piece their like target for the uncaring drivers out there! the last couple of years I've enjoyed driving a car I like but don't worry to much about how it looks! must be getting old
