I have been accumulating parts to build a wagoneer just the way "I" want it....360,T18 and Dana20,no A/C(this may change...),manual windows & locks, hydroboost and TBI.
So here goes it....
Today is the beginning of my build for my wagoneer. I have a RUST FREE body with a running 360.
Just finished removing the woodgrain this weekend.
Then I have my T18/D20 combo....
hydroboost.....
and working on the hydroboost today. I used a reservoir from an '84 Chevy C30 and modified the AMC PS bracket....

Then it was onto the pedals for the manual trans swap.....Took out the old pedal hanger...
and installed the "new" one...
Next was the pedals.....
...and that is were I stoppped for the day.
I ended up having to go to my storage unit to get more burrs for my die grinder to clearance the PS pump bracket. I think it came out quite nice !
I have a new master cylinder for an '89 Suburban to put on the hydroboost. BTW the hydroboost came from a 1995 Astro Van.
I have a lead on a passenger side drop front axle, so I am almost complete for the 4spd swap.

I am removing every piece of chrome on this thing. It will be painted desert sand(military paint).
I still need to source the manual windows and locks..."maybe" someone will want to trade for power?
I will put a 4" lift on it and run 31 or 32" tires.I would like to find some stock steel wheels 7" wide. May start looking at early GM trucks for them.
1980 Cherokee wrangled & mangled
MSD complete system
Eddy intake
Holley 650
Comp cam 270H
4" Rusty's
Ramsey 12K winch
208
Built to drive not sit in the garage.
No longer strangled. I didn't build it for anyone else.
If you can't improve it why waste your time?
73 J4000. 360, MC 2100, T18A, D20, stock closed knuckle Dana 44 front, 60-2 rear. Warn Lock-O-Matics, Warn/Belleview electric winch, true duals with glasspacks, old-school front diff skid plate, used 265 Toyos on 16" AR wheels.
Been a while! Got too many other things going on at the same time....
Anyhow, I have mounted my hydroboost, still have to get lines made @ $75 each !
I also completely stripped the interior and mounted my clutch/brake pedals. Went to wrecking yard the other day and found a J20 with a T18 and snagged all the linkage and Z-bar. Then I happen to go to Ontario pick-a-part and found a '73 Waggy with the manual window regulators and manual seat tracks...grabbed those as well as the front valance so I can mount my Boobie grille.
Not exactly sure what happened to my pics BUT I will have more soon!
Why are the lines so expensive. I custom made mine all out of aeroquip high pressure hose for much less.. You should check out speedway motors and get some FC300 hose and fittings.

Hey ! Man after my own heart. That is my ultimate drive line. Love it.
Leaving the suspension stock? Or are there plans for that too?
Lover of all Old Iron
60-79 CJ5 The best parts from several years combined to make one tough ALL JEEP CJ
81 J10 Pickup My newest acquisition undergoing a complete restoration
Plans are for 2-4" lift and either 31 or 32's. I dont want a wide rim..no more that 7" and a tire that is no more than 10.5 wide..preferably 9.5" wide.
My next big project for it is to find a passenger side drop axle(74-7?) 6 lug, disc brakes, D44. Have also constipated the idea of SOA and full width axles from a Chevy 3/4t...we'll see what I find first

Lance I still have the 74 waggy. The axles are still on it, and they are yours if you still want.

If God is your co-pilot, you need to switch seats!
That would be awesome Dusty!....I tried calling you about the 360 I had for you. While we were in Illinois in August, I guess it rained pretty hard here, well the plastic that covered the 360 got blown off, taken off or whatever, and the engine was filled with water...I did not catch it until I was going to tear it down to put into a corner of my garage for you. When I did pull the heads off, cylinders were rusted and it had been bored .060 already ...so it ended up going to the scrapper . I may be pulling out my 360 in favor of a 5.3. This one I KNOW runs and is in good condition...it's YOURS...and still FREE...if you need it SOON, I will pull it and bring it to you.
The hydroboost really cleans up that side of the engine bay, I need a master cylinder for sure and the brake pedal effort is pretty high so the booster may be compromised, it may be a good time to research the swap.
