Holy crap! I didn't realize you were so close to roadworthy on that. Looks sharp, congrats!

I don't know how much road time she'll get- sunshine only driving for her, lol. I enjoy driving it, but it "feels" more like a hot rod car and not a jeep. Strange, but true.

Thanks, 44bz

What's the story on the willys air cleaner? And where did you route the fresh air tubes to? I picked up a 4bbl rambler air cleaner awhile back which is all enclosed with a 4" outlet on one side. I wanted to try running the fresh air piping like you did but wasn't sure where to route it.

The panel is looking great by the way!

I used an AMC base and two Chevy pieces since the hoses are also Chevy. The stickers came from a local vendor just to make the vintage SBC look like a decent substitute for the old I6. I have the same stickers on the valve covers, too. The script is based upon the actual Willys script.

Hose placement was based upon where I could best fit them for looking nice and functionality. So the one on the driver's side bends down just behind the alternator and draws in air from about the 1/2 down the radiator.

The passenger's side fits under the battery tray and ended up drawing air at the same level as the other side.

Hit up a junk yard and get the inlet pieces of the air cleaners and the hoses and mock them up where they would best clear the exhaust manifolds and go from there.

I think AMC wags had a smaller, single hose that ran from the air cleaner to an inlet placed on the passenger side of the radiator support- two of those should work if you want to keep it strictly jeep. The details of how I built my set up are on the IFSJA thread.

Sweet, I'll check out the other thread for ideas. Do your hoses just point down toward the ground or do you have them plumbed into the fenders or core support somewgere?

The way they're made, they angle toward the space at the bottom of the radiator and the fan. I'll snap some pics in the AM if you'd like.

I took some shots of the part of the engine bay during the last batch of pics, but they turned out too dark.

This the build that I aspire to complete. Someday.
What kills me is the money spent on plastic toys at the high-end bike shop where I work. $4K on plastic wheels made overseas would buy two and a half tons of good domestic truck as a great starting point.
