Man! That is almost exactly like the old Ariens I used for 8 years while renting an apartment. The landlady had me do the snow removal in exchange for a rent discount. Some years it worked out alright - other years not so much. I love those machines! Yours has one extra shift lever which I'm guessing engages the auger? The one I used had a steel handle mounted in front of the engine which engaged the auger and then it had a shift lever on the handle bars with 5 forward speeds plus 1 reverse. I love how those can chew through the bottom of a drift, let the drift collapse and then take care of the rest!

Haha, thanks guys. Yeah, it's a 1979 Ariens snowblower with the 8hp motor on it. Your right, Twistedframe, that other handle is the auger engage/disengage handle. Like you said, I just let it slowly eat through the base of the snow then wait for the top to collapse back down. Then repeat! Got another 6 inches last night too. The drifts are getting pretty big!

So, do you store it in a cargo container for winter?

Yes sir. It's all original and I'm scared of New England salt. But... it's out for summer now!

No problem firing up after setting, did you put additive in or drain the system?

That's your Land Cruiser too, right? Did you lift it?

I ended up putting PRI-G in there in November and topped off the tank. My fuel system automatically clears the carb out when sitting (Jeep talk for there's a slow leak in the vacuum of the line, so after sitting for a few days the fuel drains back into the tank) so I didn't have to worry about it getting gunked up.

Long story short... It took a lot of cranking to build oil pressure but, once it did, the Holley fuel pump kicked in, charged the system and it fired right up! I'm a little too excited to be driving it again!

Yes sir! It's got the OME stock height kit on it, which nets 3/4" lift. Not a bad setup for now. Hopefully soon, I'll be stepping up to the 2" Autocraft/Icon Slinky long travel setup!

Ok, quick question for you guys. My turn signals stopped working. The hazards work fine but the turn signals don't work. From what I've read, this seems to be a failed flasher relay. Is that right? Also, where would I find the relay in the vehicle? Is it under the dash or in the column?

Thanks for the help!

The 2 large round cans in the top of the fuse box under the drivers side of the dash. One is turn signals, the other is emergency flashers.

Thanks Jaber! Are they the same relay? (Can I swap them to be sure it's the flasher relay that's bad?)

Did both sides stop working? My contacts were dirty when that happened to me. Cleaned the relay and the contacts. All worked good.

Yeah, both sides quit at the same time. The signal started flashing irregularly on both sides then they quit working all together.

Strange. My suburbans turn signal flasher just went out yesterday. Must be something in the air???
