Can't wait to see pictures from your upcoming Ouray trip! Are you ONLY going to Ouray or are you going to explore some of the harder trails while you are here? Would love to meet you if you get over to the front range side of the mountains at all. We could possibly get a Colorado FSJ meet and greet planned out if it could work out.

What are your thoughts if any of the BJ's motor mounts? Would you do them again? I am considering them and haven't seen anyone else use them.
Will be staying in Ouray area til next Thursday, then heading over to Moab for a day of wheeling at the Sand Flats Recreation Area.

As much as I would love to get a M&G going, I don't think we can swing it this time.

I do like the simplicity of the novak mounts, but I don't think they are as drop in ready as the newer style mounts.

Only complaint I had was that one of the bushing holes was not cut the right size, and I had to get a 1-1/8" drill bit and bore it out. Found out as we were installing the motor, so was not going to send them back.

Sweet... Ouray and Moab each have their advantages but I have a feeling that you will want to stay longer in Moab when the dust settles.

Good to know about the mounts. I am going to fabricate my own based on this design. I found the bushings on Speedway's website for $20/pair and I think I can design/fabricate the mounts for far less than $180. Not sure how someone could miss the bushing hole size on one side but not the other though... I guess in todays world ANYTHING is possible though.

I don't like those mounts as much but in an effort not to jam up this thread I will move my discussion to my build thread.

Made it there and back safely! What an incredible trip. The Ouray area is more spectacular than I imagined. So much to see, so many places to explore. One of these days we will move out of this terrible, flat, hot city. Anyways, pics to follow once photobucket finishes loading them. Put about 350 miles on the jeep and zero issues. Wheeled moab (heII's revenge) for a day as well and was a lot of fun as well.

Also pulled this JK out of escalator when his spotter failed to spot him to the correct line. To clarify, he was an awful spotter. That's him hanging on the side.

Great pics man! Hard to believe that it was snowing on Imogene and sunny on Black Bear!

Are you going to come back for any FSJ festivities in the future? We can always use more J-trucks in this crowd!

Thanks! And yes, we will be back. My dad retires in a few years, will head back up then for sure. And obviously would like to make the invasion at some point.

Im using the OBD port and a tablet running the torque app for all my gauges, including temp. So, my stock gauges are useless.

I'm so dumb, that I hovered my cursor over one of your pics and a little box popped up that says "Opens window". I thought that was something you embedded in the image, so I've been staring at it for a couple minutes trying to figure out what you meant saying "opens window", when the picture of your truck clearly shows a lack of windows. Gawd I'm a idiot sometimes! Obviously it's my browser telling me that clicking the pic would open a new window! :P

Back on topic, thanks for the updates! I love your truck and it's great to see how far it's come! :-bd

Well, its been a day or 2, but im back! Spent 16 months in Pennsylvania for work and just been busy with life. But, i made it out to Moab in October last year and clayton, oklahoma in April this year. The j20 has been performing flawlessly for the past 2 years, with zero breakage. I traded out the 42" swampers for 40" sticky treps. And im still getting into the fenders when flexing out. So, im ready for a bit more control, stability and predictability from the front.

I ordered up a 3 link kit from ruffstuff and got a sweeheart deal on some brand new 2.5" fox remote resi coilovers. Pics will be incoming!

EXCELLENT! Awesome to see this truck still going strong! That last pic is wallpaper worthy, for sure.

So how long did you run the sliders Brett? Three years? How have they held up?
