Electrical is a lot of fun!

I will have to try that with the keys.

Here is another photo of a reason why some people should not work on vehicles. From a previous owner or somebody "fixing"

My Jeep has A/C. Wires for the switches.

Image

The black wire runs through the firewall right under the heater hoses. Goes over the heater core box and connects to the blue wire.

Image

Blue wire then runs to the coil in this very professional job

Jealous?

I like your steady progress.
We have not even taken the tarp of ours in a month.

We did buy a running drivetrain for ours, tranny goes out for a rebuild and we traded parts for a QT with a new Morse chain.
New engine is a 360 but it will keep us moving until we can find a suitable (not left testical priced) 401 replacement.

Huge thanks to Serehill for helping me over the web. I got my Cherokee started for the first time in a long time. I switched over to HEI and removed some wires and upgraded other. It runs!

Took the cover off my spare tire today to remove the tire to gain access to the tail light housings. I replaced my tail lights with BJ's LED lights.

Pictures of the spare mount, since it is inside. I have dual tanks with a single filler.

Well order my alternator. When I finally got it ( Long story involving my local UPS drivers :banghead: ) the seller sent the wrong one :banghead: .

So the seller is sending the correct one.

Took my stock alternator brackets off.

Since the main part is basically a one piece bracket, I am looking for brackets from a 76-80 with A/C

Well got the alternator brackets I need. Going to put off swapping alternators until I get it running right.

Decided to rebuild my Carter AFB. ( Thinking it may be part of my problem, who knows how long this Jeep sat before I got it. Plus it leaked a little)

Must have been rebuilt by the previous owner at some point. The blue rubber piece on the plunger was on the wrong way, Float level and float drop were way off....

So I am glad I took it apart. It is now back on the engine but I have yet to try it. Baby steps. This Jeep gets frustrating very fast for me.

Also got a new cluster gauge bezel. My original was cracked/missing pieces. Little bit different then what I have, so I am going to try and make the "new" one look like my older one.

I have the same Motorola alternator as your truck. What alternator did you end up going with? Will you just be using later FSJ alternator brackets from the years they used Delco alts?

I am going with 120 amp cs-144 from a '86 Buick 3.1. Yes I am using the later bracket.

:D Just drove my Cherokee around the block. :D

Still needs to be fine tuned. Think I am at 7-8* ATC. now. Runs decent. I really didn't get on it, baby steps. When I shut it off it did not diesel either! That may be a fluke so I won't get too excited about that just yet.

Thought about driving it tomorrow to work but it is so nice here I am enjoying driving my '47 with the doors/top off. :-bd

Great, thank you.

FYI, the bracket I have should work but I will need some spacers and possibly drill and tap a hole in my A/C bracket. I am still running the stock bracket and alternator. I have found a few different types of brackets and may try to find/purchase them to see what is the best option for me.

Well drove the Jeep 9 miles today. :-bd Ran pretty decent. Need to bump the idle up a little after it warms.

Next up is to replace all fuel lines and change out the alternator. Then fix the rear window.
