Re: Wilderness Gladiator

Post by BigJ200 »

Nick, I wish I could take the time away next week, but I took most of this week off getting ready for Boise Motorfest. Gotta get back into the groove. I have customers waiting.

If you are in Boise, come down to the fairgrounds tomorrow and you can ride with me on the rock crawling course.

Hope to meet you soon.

Yeah I'm down in the north end. Sounds fun. Are you exhibiting the truck there tomorrow?

Right on, I'm going to try to get down there today and meet you guys. I'm thinking I want to employ AV4x4 when I rebuild my suspension.

Walked right through everything. Supple suspension, tons of flex and clearance. Very happy with my TWUCKKK!

What do you have as far as a switch to control the chevy wiper motor/box? I have a parts truck with ls swap and I like the idea. Do I need to rob the turn signal lever also?

I just used the mid-90's Chevy wiper motor. I think I put the J-truck arm on it and I use all the OEM FSJ wiper linkage. And if you want the delay function, you either need a later model FSJ column/turn lever or the GM column/turn lever.

Then it's a simple modification for the install. See previous pics.

Thanks for scratching it in the usual spot. No matter how tall the are, they mostly get that sweet spot. Looks like fun times.

Just read thru your thread.............. Amazing build.
Wish I had the patience/time/skill to go half that in depth with mine.

Now that you've had it going for a while, whats your opinion of the Lizard Skin stuff?
How much does it seem to actually help with heat/noise?

Thanks,
Jim

Thanks friend. It has a long way to go yet. But I drive it everyday and it's a great truck. Comfortable, quiet and it has plenty of go power.

The Lizard Skin has held up perfectly. No chipping, no pealing, no degradation at all. It washes up nicely too. I will definitely use it again. It helps quite a lot with heat and sound if you use both. I have even more insulation because I put Extreme Dynamat everywhere. Even inside the doors. Plus padding and a carpet kit.

How much does your rear flex? I keep thinking those tires aren't going to fit inside your bed fenders

Also I was thinking you would prefer these over the orange lenses http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jeep-Wagoneer-G ... 1687144347
I have no idea what I'm doing.

They fit all the way up as far as my up travel allows. However, I have already designed and built some really sweet tube fenders for the front and rear. And they are bigger in every way.

I love the orange lenses. Never liked the clear ones. Just a preference thing, I guess.

Next question, what are you running for a front driveshaft? Angle?
