Sorry for the poor photos, we are in the final mock up stage. The exhaust is run and clear of the rear crossmember and gas tank, finalize the tailpipe once the body is on. The rear is being held with a strap at ride height, notice the sixpack shocks are about half compressed. fuel lines and brake lines next week, then we test fit the body.

ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage We set the body back on for a final mock up. we had a one issue where the rear floor support contacted the springbuckets. Had to trim about 1/2" of the lip off of a (rear seat belt) floor support with a cut off wheel. In the first full side shot notice that it is raked forward, this is with AEV JK 3.5" lift coils in the rear. The next shot with it sitting level and at proper ride height is with AEV 2.5" TJ springs (about 30lbs lighter rate too). The front will be easily adjustable for ride height with the coilovers. The articulation is still being determined but so far the front is working well. The rear needs some adjusting to get full travel. This will all be taken back apart, and the chassis sent out for sandblasting. When it returns, we will paint it. then begin finally building it for last time. the springs will take some tuning for ride quality and load/ride...but I think we have a runner!

Using a 1998 TJ ransfer case shift lever...I sliced the the flange with a cut off wheel and jig saw so I could shape it to fit the Wagoneers trans hump/cover. I few smacks with a hammer, and some 1/4 drive sheet screws to hold its shape.
Image

I filled in the space with a piece of scrap steel, shaped to fit the opening. then welded and ground it a little.
ImageImage

The lever attaches directly to a cable that we got from Novak. The Novak parts are meant for a GM engine trans /231 swap into a TJ so it was not a direct bolt up..it is operating perfectly and with a simple leather boot for a cover should look nice simple and clean.

Nice work!

Is that a Blazer fuel tank with a larger opening than the original jeep fill assembly? If so when you hook up the fill line can you show some pictures of what you did? There are a few of us on this site that are having some issues and would like to see other ideas.

Yes, thats a blazer tank...I intend to use nothing from the wagoneer but the actual filler opening/cap. I was not happy with how the newer pump nozzles wouldnt even fit into the Wagoneers filler (mostly because of the 90 bend. ) I drove the thing 950 miles and I think I filled it one time without a spill, or over filling. I will post pictures of whatever we come up with.

Sorry we have not updated for awhile but we have been busy moving into a new shop. The Wagoneer has been mocked up and is now torn down again. I few finishing touches on the chassis and it will go out for sandblast. Then a coat of chassis saver paint and final assembly. these pics are of the project after we broke it all back down in the new shop.

I keep forgetting a watts linkage can be mounted horizontally over the axle like that. Perfect linkage for a 4x4. Nicely done.
Having seller's regret.

Sorry for the delay in posting pictures of our project, we have moved to a new shop and are in the middle of two other Jeep projects. Here are some pics of the FSJ frame after three coats of Chassis Saver. final Assembly is under way, more pics soon. We are also doing a 2002 TJ 5.3 V-8 swap, and upgrading one of our first YJ V-8 swaps to 37" tires and flat fenders. The FSJ is back on the front burner so things should begin to progress again.

the frame is upside down , it will be flipped and sanded a little and then another coat applied to the top, and other tight areas.

Slowly putting it back together it has been all about getting the right bolts lately, making sure all the lengths and grip lengths are correct can be frustrating. once the shocks and springs are installed the drivetrain will be put in place then fuel lines and brake lines. We have some steering adapters to fabricate, using a TJ steering system but the FSJ box and draglink....this all may change once we shake it down...I already have other ideas for the steering and front track bar. What we have now will work for shake down.

The frame is just a work of beauty. Is the body going to stay orange?

Thanks for the compliments. They mean a lot coming from guys on this site.... The body will stay orange....probably a faded orange like it is now....but fresh paint. The owners want to wait and see how it performs before we commit to a total repaint. The under side and firewall will be painted before final assembly... so hopefully the body won't have to come back off.

Was your 6l80e originally out of a 2wd or 4wd? Just curious if Novaks adapter works for both, and if the adapter required you to change the output shaft on the transmission due to length

Complete drivetrain out of an 07 escalade. AWD trans.....adapter worked great. No mods. In this case. Not sure about 2wd. Call them they will answer all your questions. I.m.h.o. they have the best conversion kits. And they all seem to be very knowledgeable.

we are in the final assembly stage, will post pics asap...I am curious about what others have done to make the stock fuel gauge work with the modern ( s-10 blazer) fuel sending unit. Also any thoughts on the stock master cylinder being compatible with four wheel disc brakes, I have an adjustable proportioning valve, but am curious abput line pressure etc. any help would be great thanks.
