The fronts are WT Cherokee fenders. The rears were WT flares from a 2-door, now grafted into the 4-door rear wheel well and the rear doors shaved to clear them.

I think he was asking about the little Jeep posted above.

The YJ mutt has a CJ7 hood and grill on it. The front fenders are hand-made CJ7 length tube fenders. The rears are made to match. They are 4.5” “flares” because some states require that no more tha 1” of tread be exposed and never know where uncle sam might decide i need to live.

Granted, they were made prior to my going from 8 to 10” wide rims, which pushed the tires out a little more..

Tube armor goes along with the fenders/flares. It was all powder coated to a color slightly darker than the original paint color (couldn’t find an exact match) and then had the jeep painted to match the powder coat...then wrapped it in the body armor. Now, a lot of this makes no sense for a rig that gets bounced through the woods, rocks, etc. But it seemed like a good idea at the time.

powder coating ground away by contact with rocks and trees is not easily repaired.
I probably should have used smooth bedliner on the outside of the tub before putting armor on, instead of paying for bodywork and a custom-mixed paint color that will be difficult to replicate.
The hood now needs replacing (stupid owner trying to raise it in high winds to assess a charging issue..). Will have to get someone to color-match it again.

I love my mutt. It is the only new vehicle I have ever bought for myself (95 YJ). Can’t imagine i will ever sell it. I do imagine it will always need something fixed. Frame has been straightened a couple of times, Frame, 1/2 the tub, and most of the engine are about the only things original to what i drove off the lot in ‘95.

Well, she didn’t come home today. A couple of small things that the shop will address before I take it (they pointed them out to me).

First time in the sunlight... she sure is purdy!

Not sure if they are showing up above as they just look like empty boxes on my tablet for some reason.

Is it just me, or is the driver side wheels alot closer together than the the passenger side?

Also, that thing is awesome! I didn't think I would like the blacked out chrome, but it works so well with that paint! And that dash is amazing! How hard was it to swap to the B&M shifter?

I think (hope?) that is an optical illusion from the photos. Will definitely measure once i have it in hand (likely sometime in January as I will not be “home” on a weekday for some time with work and the holidays.).

I hope so too. It's still an amazing rig. Can't wait to see the final product.

Front is from a 84 J20 that East Coast Gears rebuilt with Truetrac. The J20 rear had grooves cut in the races. ECG built a new rear from one of their new centers. They added heavy tubes, Grizzly locker, disc brakes and all the brackets for the wagoneer.

restarting this thread now that I am working on seats and stuff..

I have had a set of 09 GC Overland seats sitting in back of my unfinished GW interior since before all the body and paint was done.
I can say that they will fit as far as space is concerned, but brackets are tricky, especially on the passenger side due to the floorboards. I tried to mock some up and failed a couple years ago. But I know folks on here have successfully created brackets that provide a level mounting surface for all kinds of seats. I just couldn't seem to get them exactly right.

I took a chance and ordered a set of Corbeau brackets. They list for 79-87, but the mounting points didn't changed from 87 to 91. Testing the 09 GC seats to the brackets, the mounting sliders on seats are just a little wider. I removed the sliders that came on the brackets and am fabbing steel plates and spacers to bolt the seats to the brackets. The brackets give me a nice flat plane to work with.

I am using a 2" wide steel plate and a few washers for spacers to get the seats on the brackets. Drill some new holes in the bracket surface for the bolts, and should be good. There are a couple of little things that are a little below the plane of the sliders.

What I ordered: https://corbeau.com/jeep-grand-wagoneer ... -brackets/
I got a slightly better price and free shipping through Morris4x4

I believe these are the same, but wasn't familiar with Wedge and w/ sliders, they are WAY more expensive, so went with Corbeau:
https://wedgebrackets.com/jeep-grand-wa ... ckets.html

Of course, without the sliders, they are a little cheaper and I am not planning to use the manual sliders anyway..

These show the brackets against the seat bottom (original Grand Cherokee base removed)
I removed the manual sliders that came on the brackets.

Finally tested the passenger bracket in the GW and the floor mount holes line up with the original holes.
Maybe these photos show what I meant by giving you a flat plane to mount different seats.

https://imgbox.com/HhMOYpEz
https://imgbox.com/EozbeM07

For the Grand Cherokee seats, the mounting holes are 15 3/8 inches apart. These brackets are about 1" narrower than the outsides of the seat mounting rails. So I took a 2" wide piece of flat steel and drilled holes aligned with the seat holes.
