Hey guys just started a restoration of a 1986 Grand Wagoneer with the AMC 360, deleted my smog, and stuff. Anyone got tips for headliner around the sunroof? Mine didn't come with a headliner board so need something to replace it. Got the material from Team Wagoneer to do it, just need to figure the board out. Follow along with my pains, and progress here https://youtu.be/t1dzutCZxrc Image

Welcome to the madness!

Few things... The roof liner board for the sun roof is quite a bit different than the factory stock board. These sun roofs were installed outside the AMC factory as a kit. AMC did not install exhaust manifold gaskets from the factory. It was designed to be metal to metal flush fit. In time, manifolds warped and that was that. On the right one, it is not uncommon for the cast iron to crystallize underneath the heat riser box. My 88 completely blew out there. You might want to look at that closer before you put it back on. The rust behind the vinyl at the side light is a common place for rust to boil up for all four side lights but usually just the front because it is exposed underneath. An Edelbrock Performer intake and 4bbl carb make a difference in performance as well as dual or 3" single exhaust. Good to see you are keeping the 360. :-bd

Good luck on your project.

Welcome aboard. Your carb bowl vent to the charcoal canister is capped off. Probably some vac lines are missing that would make the carb run better.

Welcome to the asylum

OEM does not have exhaust manifold gaskets, use the copper one # MRG 7174 (mr gasket), the remflex are the other one used. I have the copper.

as for rust those rivets holding the vinyl trim are a source of rust point that spread all over the quarter panel, front or back.

the charcoal canister needs a hose to the PCV valve to prevent vapor build up and blowing your gaskets or vent to air the oil filler tube, check the sitcker on your valence, then hop to Tom's oljeep site for schematic and TSM
