Wally - 88 GW

Post by fulsizjeep »

Image

I bought this Jeep in 95 for $7500. Sold it in 13 after the rear axle broke at 65 and caused significant body damage to the LR fender. Then I got it back in 16. Wally has evolved from family truckster to capable wheeler over the years. Someone else here is responsible for getting him back on the road. I can't thank Jerry enough for offering first dibs when he decided he did not need another wheeling rig. Wally is pretty much summed up on my web site here:

I remember Wally giving a certain driver an "oh BEEP" moment.... That rig can run.

I had no idea that video was out there. I had to send Wally back home
because I miss wheeling my big TAN after that.

Thank Tad, he took it and posted it.
Funny part is that's "Elvis", which is the same trail Jerry took my Cherokee through before I bought it.

I sure do wish I had video's of all the times Jerry would jump it! Wow he knew how to catch some air for sure! I think I have some of the time he sunk it in the river and the water was going over the hood! It took like 3 hours to drag it out. ;)

Wally has had rough duty driving me to work this week while sipping 91 octane. He was always a good jumper, just not a good swimmer.

I rolled over 300,000 miles on Wally this week. Here we are down on the border for the event.

Image

The cluster was changed out in 2000. The replacement speedo had almost 65,000 less miles on it. I used a drill to make the difference 65,000 before installing.

The MTR were junk and are gone. Got Wally on new 35" Cooper Discoverer STT last weekend.
