I didn't find anyone near me...but haven't really looked too hard.

I will probably still do it myself, just don't have time right now. Once i finish my training, My new job will be 24hrs on, 24hrs off, 24hrs on, 5 days off. So, I'll have time -soon!

It's not too late to take the whole harness off and send it to Novak to have it finished and reloomed. :) Make it a little easier on yourself.

I have already thinned it. I am not sure if they will take one that is already thinned. What do you think?

The work is done. All it really needs is a fuse box added and looming.

That is essentially what I paid a guy to do. It was a friend of a friend. He also reworked some of the old vehicle harness and replaced lights and side markers.

I'm sure there is a local shop in your area that would work on it for you even if it was on the side.

Finally some progress!

Ended up paying someone to finish my wiring. Got it back, and got the harness on the engine. I am in the process of modifying the factory underhood harness to mate up with the new one.

Finish up the fuel system, and Radiator/Fan/Cooling next.

Still got a lot to do, but progress is progress.

Brett,

I've got a big test/exam coming up. With Independence Day, this test, and all of my family visiting over the last few weeks...I haven't had a chance to mess with it much.

I will have time in a few weeks!

Some wiring questions before I move along...

Here's what I have:

On the GM side, my GM battery cable has a large gauge positive wire going to the starter, a large gauge positive wire going to the alternator, and a large gauge positive wire that I assume went to a distribution block at one point.

On the Jeep side, I have my wires whittled down to the following:
1) Red 10awg - Fuse Panel Feed - I assume this needs constant 12V power. Should I run it to the battery, or a junction block, or what?
2) Red 10awg - Accessory Circuit Breaker Feed - I assume this also needs constant 12V power. Should I run it to the battery, or a junction block, or what?
3) Red 10awg - Ignition Switch Feed - Does this one get constant 12V?
4) Yellow 12awg - Alternator and Ignition Feed - my GM alternator has a signal wire in the factory GM harness, and a large AWG wire from the battery. Do I need this? It went to the alternator, and split to the ignition module.
5) Green 16awg - Starter Relay Feed - this went to the starter relay - where does it go now? I assume to the purple GM starter trigger wire?
6) Orange 12awg - Emission System Feed - this connected to the choke, carb bowl warmer, etc. I think it is 12V in start/run, as you mentioned above.

For my LS wiring harness, I have a Battery +, a Ignition +, a ground, fuel pump wires, check engine light wires, and a TCC switch wire.

Any advice is appreciated.

1) Yes, constant 12v, to dist block.
2)Assume constant 12v also, to dist block.
3) Is this going to the ign switch, or was this going to ignition module from the switch. I think this should be your keyed 12v to whatever needs 12v key on in the ls harness.
4) I deleted the yellow one.
5) green now goes to GM purple as you stated.
6) Delete this wire.

I have some wiring pics throughout my build thread also.

Battery + to your distribution block
Ignition + to item 3 above.
TCC control, I used the switch mentioned in a thread on here before. Search tcc switch for wiring. D850A (rockauto) dual brake switch - brake and tcc control.

Got the Jeep to turn over today!
All three red wires from the factory jeep harness went straight to battery positive (fuse panel feed, ignition feed, and accessory feed)
The yellow wire went to the ignition voltage wire on my LS harness
The green wire from the jeep harness (starter relay trigger) went to the purple wire on the LS starter.

Turned the key and it cranked!

Now I need to finish fuel and fluids and see if it will run.

Hi, I´m new to this forum, my name is Sebastian and I´m from Chile.
I have been following your build, since I´m starting one pretty similar to yours.
You have done an excellent job !
Mine is a 87 Waggy that I will be swapping in a L96/6L80E/NP241 drivetrain.
What did you finally do about the the clearance between the heater box and the coils / wires ?

Back in 2007 I did a similar swap on my old 89 Waggy, but that time it was a LQ4 with a 4L60 transmission. I did some custom motor mounts and I remember that it was a tight fit with the heater box, but it worked. My concern about the clearance you are getting is because I´m planning to buy the Novak mounts to save some time.

Any input will be appreciated
